Controller Drift after update xbox one s

I got a new series s controller and I’m already getting terrible drift on the right stick, and it didn't start until today when the controller update. I used to just play with it on my laptop but today my son wants me to play with him on the Xbox so I paired it then update it. Games was working fine in my laptop before the update but I notice the terrible drift after i paired back in my laptop. I even have videos of the control working fine in the Xbox but drifting like crazy in my laptop.

And nothing happened with the laptop before u ask cuz when I switch to mouse the game don’t drift at all I can move my camera with the arrows without problems so the thing is the controller update.

Oh and is not in guarantee or windows update thing cuz I have it with the last win10 original btw

And I saw a post that u guys closed with the same issue same joystick…

So tell me how can I fix this?

You can try reverting your controller's firmware by trying the steps below:

Power on and sign into your console
Navigate to My Games and Apps
Navigate to your Apps section and select the Xbox Assist app
Once in the Xbox Assist app, head over to the Articles section, then select Console & Accessories
Once under Console & Accessories you should see "My controller has connection issues after the last update"
Select the Check controller firmware button below and the Xbox Accessories app should automatically open up
Once in the Xbox Accessories app, select Revert Firmware

It's important to note that once you've completed this process, you will have to manually update the controller through the Xbox accessories app going forward.

I cannot revert back to previous update. Everytime I get to Xbox accessories my right analog drifts hard to the right making it impossible to select anything. I use a working controller to get passed most of the menus but once my updated controller turns on it's drifts right/down each time.

they have turned into apple, they sell inferior cheap tack at a premium price.

I have seen loads and loads of posts about stick drift on a lot of new controllers, not just elite.

Best thing is i have three xbox one s controllers, all with drift on the left thumbstick, seems to be an issue when you click it in repeatedly for running in games it then gets drift very quickly. (mainly drifting up)

I bought a power A controller with two rear buttons and low and behold no drift even after three months of use.

that happened to me on my day one controller when titanfall was released. it seemed to start drifting right after the controller update. Microsoft replaced it for me but it took like 6 weeks.
