Controller doesn't work ONLY at "Update Required" confirmation screen!

Yes the docking station works perfectly fine via PC and Xbox however charging isn't the issue I'm being prompted from my Xbox to update my controller when I plug it up directly to the controller to charge it from the USB port on the front of my Xbox once I confirm to update I get the progress screen after the progress screen I get the no updates needed screen and then recycle It gives me a update required button again I'm not stuck at the screen the controller is usable after leaving the screen It's just asking me to update when I'm already on the latest firmware for the controller

Sorry I only just noticed that the link doesn't tell you how to delete the system update before attempting to update again.

Go to the storage section on the console and highlight your storage device

Press the following buttons on the controller

Left bumper

Right bumper

X

Left Bumper

Right bumper

X

You will be asked to confirm deletion of the system update, confirm deletion and the console should reboot and require you to update again.

The stick only works in the update screen for updating my controller

Can you confirm what firmware version the controller is running at there is a possibility that no controller update is required.

if your password works on xbox.com but not on the console go to account.live.com and update your proofs to make sure you have the now required 3 proofs, and also confirm them if it asks you to on the top of the screen. after that try to download it again
should work.
