Controller doesn’t detect any mic after update

I Suggest trying a soft factory reset https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/reset-console-to-factory-defaults

This might resolve this issue if it is a bad update issue

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about the current issue with a headset and Xbox One controller. I recommend
to try the following:

• Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working.
  
• Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
  updating the first controller again.
  If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the
  Xbox Online Service Center

I have updated the controller and it still doesn’t work, it still doesn’t output my mic even though I can hear the mic. However I have noticed when I join a party for half a second my xbox outputs my mic then it just stops. Is that of any help?

i have done what you said to do and it still dosent detect a mic on any of my controlers

Thanks for coming to the forums. If you are showing the Mic symbol with line through it on the home screen. This means the mic is not being detected. We recommend trying to

update the controller with the headset plugged in.
