Controller disconnects, tried all the basics.

So a couple of days ago my original controller began disconnecting randomly during gameplay. I assumed it was the batteries so I replaced them, disconnects continued. I power cycled and it seemed to be better for about 30 minutes, but then it started occurring
again. I began looking online and realized I hadn't updated my controller in a while, so I updated it. I am pretty sure the problem became worse after the controller update (maybe my frustration is playing into that). I power cycled, no avail. I contacted
support at that point and went through all of the listed "fixes" to this issue they make you go through, nothing. They suggested sending my controller in for repair under warranty. I went out that night and bought a new controller, as I knew I was going to
be without one for a couple of weeks. I should have known that it wouldn't be that easy, the new controller has the same issues. I have contacted support twice since then, power cycled 10-15 times, the only thing that works is plugging the controller directly
into the console via usb. At this point I am ready to return my new wireless controller and buy a wired controller. This has to be a software issue, the frustrating thing is supports failure to admit it. I am part of the Preview dashboard, but I haven't opted
into the new updates.

Any suggestions other the standard list of "fixes"?

Im afraid this is an all to common problem and the only thing MS will do is replace the controller. Whether its a software issue or not its clear that MS cant fix it.

I think the mods have been asked to lock all threads relating to this issue.

 

How does locking a thread help. People have provlems, come here and see questions with no real answers.

 

Hey there, ThePipeGent! We are able to fix it, however you will need to send in your console for a repair. Especially since your new controller is having the issue, it's clear that your console is what is causing this issue, and your console needs to be
repaired. This is the only way to resolve this issue.

These threads are only locked when users turn threads into something that isn't related to support. We do not lock threads without explaining what is happening, or unless an Ambassador has explained what is happening.
