Controller disconnects once headset is plugged in

I just got a play and charge kit. When I plug in the headset, the controller stops working. The power light slowly blinks and the controller is unresponsive. If I unplug the headset, it works again. This is the standard headset that came with the console.

I have updated the controller. The battery pack is fully charged. I've disabled kinect chat. I've cycled the Xbox.

The headset works on the controller if I remove the battery and plug in with the USB. It also works on other controllers with AA batteries.

Something is clearly wrong here. Not happy since I just purchased this.

Xbox one will not power with updated controller with MS Stereo headset plugged in

Xbox one will not power with updated controller with MS Stereo headset plugged in. Once I disconnect MS Stereo headset and adapter it powers on syncs just fine. Then I plug in the headset and adapter everything works. But if i power off controller or xbox
one it won't sync with the headset and adapter plugged in. Ive updated controller. It works fine with old chat headset. It works fine plugged in usb.

 

March Update messed up my controller and astro A50 Headset.

After the March 2015 Xbox One update my controller disconnects every once and awhile, And when I use my Astro A50 's for just chating with cable plugged into controller I get popping, or zapping sound everysecond and then controller disconnects! This did
not happen before the recent update. When I am just playing a game with my headset on not using chat, everythings fine except for the once and a while controller disconnect! Problems really arise when I hook my headset chat cable in controller. I found that
if I do the same thing and have controller plugged in to xbox one. it works flawlessly. Help!

To anyone new to this thread and haven't already, please check out my previous troubleshooting posts here and here. We also recommend using your wireless controller connected with a micro-USB cable to the Xbox One console to help with the controller's connectivity
