Controller disconnects after powering on Xbox One

I recently purchased a new Xbox One S bundle (1 TB Battlefield/military green edition). When I hit the home button on my controller the Xbox will power on just fine, however, the controller will lose sync shortly after. I have
to re-sync the controller with the system to get it to work again. If I turn the Xbox on using the button on the front of the console and then turn on the controller afterwards everything works fine. I've also experienced no issues turning the controller
off and then back on while the console is running. The problem only seems to occur when using the controller to power on the console. I've also noticed that this only seems to occur if energy savings (instant on) is disabled. Any ideas or suggestions?

To check, were you able to try working through the steps in our
Xbox One controller update guide under "Update via PC" to see if they can help?

If your
controller is not powering on, please try those steps.

Hi there,

please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

Also be sure to disconnect the head set before powering the console off and reconnected when the console was powered on again.

Also be sure to check if there are any updates available for the controller

Did you manage to find a solution for this? I have the exact same problem. Xbox support has asked me to have the console replaced under warranty. Will that make a difference?

please try the following:

Perform the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 30 seconds and after that disconnect the console from power for at least 60 seconds. After that reconnect the console and power on again:

When console is booted double check the controller settings again and reset it.
After that restart the console one more time.

My problem is similar to brydog23

my controller works fine until it disconnects, be it i disconnected it or it stayed idle for 15 minutes, after that i hold the xbox button and the controller shows its connected, however no buttons work, not even if another controller was connected, the
Kinect works fine however to reconnect the controller i have to power-cycle the console every-time.
