Controller disconnection nightmare

Hey,

I have my Xbox one since day one.

Since a few months now, I am having controller disconnecting issues that make playing games completely frustrating

The controller randomly disconnects and then reconnects mostly within a few seconds. These disconnects happen in any app or on the dashboard, although it feels like it happens more in certain games. Overall I would say that it happens on average once every
5-10 minutes, but when playing e.g. Beach buggies, it sometimes disconnects more than once a minute or even 5 times in a row.

This happens with both my controllers as well as two controllers of a friend. When playing with 4 controllers at the same time, there is hardly 30 seconds without one of them disconnecting. This can be slightly improved by leaning forward and pointing the
controller towards the console (kinect). All controllers work fine at my friends Xbox. All controllers are up to date and with full battery.

I am sitting less than 4 meters away from the Xbox and there are no obstructions, console sits in an open shelf. There are also no other wireless devices nearby (the router is behind the couch, no 5ghz wifi).

The console is set to energy saving and has been hard reset many times, manual controller resyncing has no effect.

Any help would be appreciated although it seems like a hardware/firmware issue.

Sorry to hear about the controller disconnection trouble! To kick things off, have you tried replacing the batteries in your controller to see if there's any change? Also, please make sure you run though this Controller

You're not alone. I started having this problem after the big dashboard update. After about 1 week of having it. I've literally tried everything in the book to no avail. Microsoft keeps pushing this problem aside, but its a HUGE deal. How can we play without
a working remote right? In my opinion it must be a software issue since my Xbox worked fine for months before this update. There's been cased of people sending it in for repair just to come back with the same problem.

Sorry bro, we'll just have to wait it out til Microsoft gets off their *ss and decided to acknowledge this issue.

There are thousands with this problem and the more voices heard the better our chances to getting this fixed.

 

The wifi cards are the fault of the disconnect issues. I replaced mine on Friday and have not had a single disconnect yet. People usually lose the ability to keep sync with the controller while others have issues with the wifi. You can buy the cards used,
I recommend eBay because of their buyer protection. You can look up videos and illustrations on how to take the console apart to replace the card. It's relatively easy to do.
