Controller disconnecting

I just got an XB1X and the controller that came with it keeps disconnecting while I'm playing a game. Like I will be playing something and out of nowhere it will just say "Please reconnect controller" and the light on the controller will still be on but
none of the buttons will work.

Is this something that can be fixed or do I need to buy another controller. And if it can't be fixed will Microsoft send me a new controller or what. It has been doing this for almost 2 weeks every since I had my new XB1X.

Microsoft does give a 90 day warranty on the controller, so if you want to start that process, call support via : Contact Us | Xbox Support

If you want to try some other troubleshooting first, here are some things to try:

Also, if you are using the "play and charge" kit, try using regular batteries for a while and see it the same thing happens.

In addition to what Echo4Ent has stated it’s always good to make sure your controllers software is up to date. You can do that by following the steps in this link.

Mine is a XB1, about two years of usage, I have two controllers and couple weeks ago both controllers started disconnecting without apparent reason.

I've tried updating the console and the controllers, and also did a clear cache procedure, hold the power button until it shuts down, and it still disconnecting.

Sometimes it works for a while without disconnecting, but other times it happens more frequently and I get really annoyed with that.

Is there anything else I can do?

Connecting the controller with a USB cable doesn't work,

Controller still disconnects even with a USB cable connected,

I have the same issue with Series X using mouse and keyboard for Call of Duty Vanguard.

I played during the beta and there was no problems with the controller disconnecting but as soon as the game released, the controller disconnects,

I've tried a Xbox One controller Series X controller, with batteries and a USB cable, and the controllers still disconnects.

I would recommend checking out the "Xbox One Wireless Controller disconnects or can't connect" page,

support.xbox.com/.../wireless-controller-disconnects. It lists a number of issues that could be causing the disconnection and solutions.

When you connect your controller it disconnect you from the internet?

I tried 2 controllers. Both are disconnecting. And when they're both connected, I can see that they disconnect at the same time.

Well, when I don't have any controller connected the Internet is disconnected too. When I stay on the Wi-Fi / Internet page, it says "No connection" with or without a controller connected. The controller is disconnected with the Internet, even when I don't
have a Internet connection set up.

I miss play GTA V...

Updates:

Paired both controllers to console at the same time. Both controllers lost and regain sync at the same time.

Paired Elite controller to iPhone. No disconnects.

Paired one controller to console and other to phone. Controller connected to console disconnected, controller connected to iPhone stayed connected.
