controller disconnecting when xbox headset plugged in

Ive had a bit of a strange one tnite ive been using the controller fine for hours then plugged in the headset that came with the xbox into my controller to play bf4 and the light on the controller flashes and I get the controller disconnected msg on the
screen. I tried new batteries but still get the same issue its quite annoying as party chat on the Kinect is a pain

So I wanted to add this too,

The controller is only disconnecting when I have my XB chat adapter from my Astro A50 headset plugged in.

When I have the chat adapter not plugged in it does NOT disconnect...

 

Plugging in headset makes controller turn off...

My controller instantly shuts off when headset (one that came with Xbox one) is plugged in. I've power cycled Xbox, updated controller I can't even update it with the headset plugged in because it shuts off.. Bought another headset it does the same thing..
Do I need a new controller already!? So frustrating. Help?

 

Yep. Happened to me as well. When I shoot a gun for a long period of time or dunk in NBA 2k14, basically anything that causes a prolonged vibration, my headphones make a weird noise and my controller disconnects.
