Controller disconnecting on full battery

So i'm trying to play the GTA stunt races and all of a sudden, I get a black screen saying my controller has disconnected. I get that for around 1-2 seconds then its back. This happens 2-3 times every minute and as you can imagine, it's really annoying.
At first I thought, the batteries must be low. They were, I changed them. Brand new, fully charged batteries. Same thing is happening. I figure I'm sitting too far away from the xbox so I move closer, literally around 1.5 meters away, facing the xbox straight
on. Same thing is happening. Of course I will try a new controller but I have a worry nagging in the back of my mind that this could actually be the xbox and the sensor isn't working correctly anymore which could be a costly fix or may even result in me needing
a new console.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? I have searched it and saw a few posts about the day one controllers but this is just a standard one, less than 1 year old from Amazon.

Controller Problems

Normally I'd go to google, but having a hard time as the word Battery and Draining, just comes up with troll forums about how much bullshit it is to have batteries instead of a charge pack blah blah.

Here's the issue. My controlller (day 1) with brand new batteries is showing 3/4 full, then 5 minutes later it gives me the low battery warning, then it disconnects at random.

I had thought it was a short. I went to town on the thing (immature I know) while doing Bottles last puzzle in Banjo...fucking thing is not made for the XB controller...

Troubleshooting I put the batteries into my 2nd controller that I never use and sure as shit, same thing.

Anyone else having these disconnects or battery issues?

Official controllers

Nope! The Xbox one controllers are crap full stop

Creaks, buttons sticking, disconnections, rattling batteries... I could go on

Hey Dave,

Sorry to hear about the issue! Since you mentioned that you were going to try a different Xbox One controller, did the issues persist on a different controller? That would be a great step to try to narrow down which side the issue is on.

I contacted Microsoft support and described my problem. The support person immediately said the problem was the Xbox One's controller battery cover and is shipping me a new battery cover. She assured me that this will fix the issue. I am very skeptical
that this will fix the issue unless they redesigned the battery cover to hold the battery in place better. I will compare the covers when it arrives to see if there is a difference. While I'm waiting, my controller still disconnects from the console. Has
disconnected on me 3 times a few minutes after a fresh charge. The battery indicator will go from showing full to red in about 1 hour. Then you disconnect controller and re-connect and it shows full again only to repeat the same pattern. If the battery
cover doesn't work I will try to get MS to replace the rechargeable battery. I have not yet had this problem with AA batteries. With AA batteries the indicator also seems to work properly.

Are you using batteries or the charger pack? If you are using batteries ensure that they are not low on charge(Just covering all the bases). If you are using a rechargeable pack, charge the batteries to full before playing and then give it another go. If
the problem persists and the controller continues to disconnect I suggest the following - If you have a spare battery pack try this on the controller and ensure that the battery pack is not loose, I have had this problem before and it may just be that the
vibration from the controller is moving around the loose battery pack.

My controllers are doing the same thing. They are both wireless controllers. I tried one with new batteries and the other with a battery pack. When it's plugged in with the battery pack it works and even says that it has a full charge. When I disconnect
the cord, it won't reconnect to the XBOX. I don't have anything new (wireless or bluetooth or anything) that would be interfering with the signal - to my knowledge.

I have a some suggestions you could try if you haven't done it already.

*Disconnect your controller from the xbox then reconnect.

*Try using the controller closer to the xbox and see if it disconnect

*if your using a battery pack, try using different batteries

* Try hardwiring to your xbox and see if it disconnect
