Controller Disconnecting constantly and freezing

I had to get a new controller after Microsoft defaulted on my warranty on my last controller. Was not surprised, it's Microsoft. Don't expect them to actually uphold what they promise.

Anyway, my last two controllers both had left stick drifting/lag. I was told yo go spend more money on another controller so I could "Get back to gaming with Xbox". Typical copy/paste answer. I went to Wal-Mart, got a factory black, standard controller......went
home to play. Now, since buying, if you stop using the controller for longer than 10 seconds, It "disconnects". At fhat point, it will not reconnect. It just bricks.

Now, I've had controllers DC before...and the light will blink a few seconds and it would reconnect. This one doesn't even flinch. No lights flashing, no re-connect....nothing. Light just stays solid. Even if I plug in a cord, it won't reconnect. I have
to remove the battery and turn it back on. Even then, that only works about 70% of the time If you don't plug in a cord first. If I straight plug it in and run wired the whole time from the get go, it works fine most of the time....but does DC on rare occasions
(but nothing like wireless).

What's weird to me is...I can use it to wirelessly turn in the console, so it's linked. I have it set to autorecognize and log me in....it does. So the console knows this thing exists. If I use a wire, it works almost 100%. If it DC's on wireless, it basically
bricks until I pull the batteries and turn it back on. It won't reconnect, once it DC's, even with a with a wire. That's the one that really stumps me.....how does plugging it in not reconnect it?

I have tried every step I have seen or can think of. This issue is specific to just this controller. I have never experienced this issue before with any other wireless product, Xbox related or otherwise. The controller is up to date, the console is only
8 moths old (One X). I do not have another console to try it on....so can't test elsewhere. Console is hardwired, onlu my phone is one WiFi...no other equipment on the house uses WiFi...so it shouldn't be a signal (especially since the other controllers don't
experience this ever...this is a 100% new issue).

I have power cycled the console, did the full "unplug everything, even from the wall and unplug your modem and coax" troubleshooting everyone reccomends. Also...something weird to note....I can only connect the controller with a cord. Using the button on
the top of the controller and on the Xbox to wirelessly detect it does not work. As well, I live in the country so there's no interference around me. To me, it sounds like this particular controller has a faulty wireless issue internally....be it the coding,
the equipment/signal node...whatever.

My controller has been disconnecting constantly it's annoying I can't play HALO properly any tips?

Had to reformat xbox as was constantly freezing an disconnecting from xbox live....now will download nuketown an as soon as reach 100% says hasnt downloaded. also took over 2 hours to to said download...should i reformat again

 

Maybe you could return the controller to the store and get a different one. Here is some helpful info that might help.
