controller disconnecting - anyone else have their xbox one behind a wall?

I understand this sounds dumb but you will have to trust me that I have a pretty sweet entertainment setup and I like it. I have a wall mounted TV and behind that wall is the closet to a guest bedroom. I have my blu ray player, Comcast box, bose box and
xbox one console in the closet. I used to have my 360 back there and never had a controller problem. I was considering getting a male to female USB extension cord, buy a play and charge kit and run that from the console, through the wall, and under the TV
to where I sit. I have heard the play and charge won't work though through an extension cord. Is this true?

Any other ideas besides moving my xbox into the other room? This would be a pain to fish wires and I have no entertainment center to put the console on nor do I want to

Controller disconnects very frequently

I had an issue with my Xbox one controller it kept disconnecting very frequently. I contacted Xbox support they told me to send it in and they will send me a new one. I was wondering if anybody else had this problem with their Xbox one controller and if
they solved the issue. I am afraid that the issue could be in the console itself (I really hope not) but will have to wait for Xbox to send me a new remote before I will know for sure. Do you guys think a controller connecting then disconnecting very frequently
is the fault of the controller or console more likely? I haven't tried another remote because I don't wanna to purchase another remote and I don't have friends who bought the console on release day

 

This stupid update & controller update

Off topic! Has anyone else had this beta preview update? And if so, has anyone had issues with their controller(s) like they keep disconnecting? Every minute to 10 seconds? I did that update controller thing, since then it HAS ruined my controllers. So,
my question to Xbox (please reply or Direct message me) is when the new update or full update with everything sorted out will it cure my controllers from this disconnecting scene? And I know I'm not the only one who has had issues with this controller bug.
So thank you for ruining my controllers. Now I have to use the USB to make them work, THE FINAL UPDATE BETTER HAD FIXED THIS ISSUE AND I WANT AN ADMIN OR XBOX EMPLOYEE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME. Not happy AT ALL

 

The play and charge cord is 10', is that long enough?

 

I didn't realize it's 10 feet but I still don't think it's enough. The cord will go through a wall and it's a 60" TV so I don't sit very close to it

 

Might be easier to just buy a USB wall adapter instead.

 

how does the wall adapter work? You plug a play and charge kit into the wall?

 

From what I understand you can plug the play and charge kit USB into anything like a laptop or any other powered USB port. But as for the disconnect problem, there are two types of USB extensions. You should just need to get an 'Active' Usb repeater extension
and it should work.
