    Controller disconnect while wired!


    I hook up my controller to the Xbox one x via the usb cable once in a while. I noticed, at times, I would hear a “buzz” in the speakers and the controller would disconnect from the Xbox.

    This is my conclusion- every time this happens, my dog has been close to the cable a second or two before the event. He has a CHIP which I believe is interfering with the single through the cable.

    Hello,

    Yes, the USB cable while plugged into the Xbox One controller will force the data to and from the controller to the console over USB, thus making it a wired controller.

    This is also evident when unplugging and plugging in the USB, the controller disconnects for a brief period to resync.

    Help! Wired controller disconnects!

    Have you checked the wired controller to see if it has an update available?

    Update Xbox One Controller

    Also try power cycling the box to give it a fresh start by holding the power button for 10 seconds until it shuts off completely and restart it.

    Hello,

    Yes, the USB cable while plugged into the Xbox One controller will force the data to and from the controller to the console over USB, thus making it a wired controller.

    This started happening to me since the latest, or maybe the one before, update.

    Says console updated successfully 3rd of June 2022.

    I only play wired.. so yes it’s disconnecting me while wired.

    Using two different controllers, 1 from Microsoft and 1 from turtle beach. (recon controller)

    I thought it might be the wire, but I tried several usb c wires, on several USB ports on the series X.

    The one in front and the ones in the back, doesn’t matter, same result.

    It will disconnect during gameplay mostly, other activities such as watching YouTube etc, it doesn’t seem to disconnect, ruling out the wire as far as I’m concerned.

    I have also updated both controllers obviously.

    No change in behaviour.

    This is fairly recent.

    If it gets worse I’ll do the reset / keep games etc nuclear option.

    I have used mine with it. You have to go with the wired connection instead of wireless though. Also I noticed my controller disconnecting quite a few times while using the adapter and headset.
