Controller D-Pad Broken

never mind about this post I tried to fix my controller and I broke it. I feel like a idiot right now

I have the silver controller. Had it since it first came out. I've never once ever rotated the D-pad, other than the first experimental twist when I first pulled it out of the package. But no, my D-pad isn't broken

Yeah, the pad that came packaged with my Slim definitely had a far superior d-pad to any other 360 pad I've used. I know what you mean about a different 'feel' but the difference is far too significant for that to be the case. I hoped that Microsoft had
actually decided to update all their pads, but I spoke to a technician on here and he said that only the controller that shipped with the Slim had been 'specifically redesigned'. They've offered to send me a controller with the 'good' d-pad if I return my
old (broken) one, but I don't know why they aren't commercially available.

From my own experience, I had to send in my Elite 2 controller, and you get an email with shipping label which explains what you need to remove and what to send in.

You have to remove the sticks, D-Pad and paddles, and only send in the "naked" controller.

Unless you also have a defective accessory (e.g. broken USB cable, non-working charging cradle) you only send in the bare bone controller WITHOUT the sticks, D-Pad and paddles.
