    Controller constantly disconnects...

This has been happening to me ever since I got the Xbox One a few months after it came out. I've lived with, been frustrated by it, and ultimately am fed up. This is ridiculous, at first I believed it was my controller to be the problem. So i bought a few
more and now have four controllers that all have the same problem. I rarely ever get a day where there's not one disconnect and man, do I wanna toss my xbox out the window. I don't understand why this happens? My xbox is in the same room as me, same room as
the router, new batteries and everything. I don't want to ship my xbox out just to get a used one right back like that's ridiculous. I used the cycle reset and sure, the controller turns on right when I turn my xbox on but ten minutes later the disconnects
continue. Can't even play games online with this problem. It seems it happens quite a lot and microsoft doesn't even care... Do I gotta replace the wifi board? I don't understand.

    :)

Thanks for linking them up. There's also this thread, which I posted on back in June:

    forums.xbox.com/.../4789666.aspx

(I created a new thread because I read the mods asked people to create new threads to get individual support...we'll see.)

  3. Controller disconnects constantly

Every 5-10 minutes or so it will disconnect and I'll have to hit A to reconnect.

I've had this issue for months and months and have followed all the many threads waiting on a resolution.

    My setup:

    • Day One edition console
    • Day One edition controller
    • Couch is less than five feet away from console
    • There is nothing between console and me, no drawers/cabinet doors, etc
    • ASUS AC wireless router, and yes I have mobile devices connected to router. Lots of them.
    • No wireless (landline) phones
I have tried all of this without resolution:

    • new batteries
    • power cycled Xbox One
    • disconnected/re-synced controller to Xbox One
    • new controller (spent $65 yesterday so I can play Far Cry 4 without messed up audio and without dying because of disconnects. That's more than I paid for the game.)
    • removed Kinect from the system (unplugged and put in closet)
    • moved console to another TV on second floor, from first floor
Originally, I thought it was from the Kinect losing sight of the controller as it would happen very often when I was reclining on the couch and my leg blocked the line-of-sight from Kinect to controller. Does the Xbox itself use line-of-sight IR emitters/receivers
    to monitor the controller?

I also bought a Microsoft Stereo headset and adapter and my sound constantly goes in and out and stutters, which I believe is related to the same issue...it's an absolutely terrible experience.

Please help. I guess I should go ahead and request a repair for my console? Perfect timing now that I just bought Far Cry 4 and GTA V.

You don't think I checked that already? None of those work... There's literally nothing I can do but get a new xbox and that is trash. Never experienced nothing like that w/ my ps4! Smh

It seems to be a widespread problem.Ive posted in numerous forums on this topic because I have had this problem out of nowhere.I have tested 3 different controllers all do the same thing wired and wireless. This started happening to me right after the most
recent update.Fustrating, you have no idea because you don't have this problem and don't have a console that is pretty much useless at this point.

Hey Hades and Nitro! I've heard a lot of people with this problem as well, but I've had multiple users try this solution and it's been working. Give it a try for me. Controller constantly disconnects... :)

    1. Remove batteries from the controller

    2. Plug the controller into the console with a USB cord

    3. Hard reset the console (turn off, remove power source, turn back on)

    4. While console is powering on, hit the bind button on the left side 3x

    5. After the console is at the Dashboard, hit the bind button on the controller 3x.

    6. Profit, because the controller should stay connected now. Controller constantly disconnects... :) Put the batteries back in and go wireless.

No "Profit" on this answer as I have tried that solution,I've looked all over these forums and tried every possible suggestion. It has to be a software issue. It would not be horrible if I could play wired but that causes the controllers to act like they have
a mind of their own,and yes I said controllers, plural because I've tested 3 separate controllers.Im not sending in my XboxOne for repair because others with the same problem got it back with the same problem. Its not interference because nothing has changed
    prior to the last update.

    Hey everyone affected,

To be clear, are you seeing this with multiple controllers on the same console? If so, this could be something w/the console's ability to connect rather than the controllers'. I have a few steps I recommend:

    1. Test any of these disconnecting controllers on a friend's console.

-- If they connect and work fine on another console, this definitely points to your console.

    2. Another similar test is to test these controllers wired via a microUSB cable and see if they connect and work fine.

    3. If everything checks out wired and with another console, a repair may be necessary for your console. You can find out more about that here:

There are waaaayyyy too many people with these controller disconnect problems recently to be faulty hardware all at once. Look at this forum, there are multiple threads with disconnect problems. I have a launch Xbox, had problems early on, the patch was
issued that fixed it, and now after one of the last updates, I have problems again. Two different controllers, they won't even connect to turn the Xbox on! Syncing doesn't always work, I have to plug in the cable and sometimes that doesn't work. Only a reboot
    fixes it.

I feel like nothing gets relayed higher-up the chain to get things fixed. This controller disconnect problem, the Kinect shutting itself off now, the Kinect camera setup being removed but the button and text is still there? Things are just getting removed/broken
    but nothing is getting fixed?!

I totally agree with The Ender. The problem has started after the update and it was perfect before that. All this reset your console and press buttons is just what they're told to say.Im not spending $130 to have my console sent back and have the same problem
    as others have stated.Its a software/firmware issue.

Here is a possible solution for those with a Kinect.

So I spoke with phone support last week and she had me sync the controllers with the Kinect instead of the console. Press and hold the sync button on the controller until it starts to flash and point it at the Kinect - don't press the sync button on the
console itself. It seemed to take longer to sync this way, but both of my controllers did sync.

I didn't even know we could do this, but since doing so, my controllers have stayed synced. For the past few weeks while the Xbox was in standby the controllers would unsync and I would have to resync (usually wouldn't work), use a cable (worked 75% of the
time), or restart the console, every couple of days. I still think something got messed up due to an update because I never had these problems so frequently before, but at least so far this Kinect-syncing has worked for me.
