Controller/Console problem?

Okay, so this started happening a couple of days ago. What happens is the home button on my XB1 controller would blink, and it would say please reconnect the controller. I try to, but doesn't do anything. If I'm playing a game, it kicks me to the home screen.
It seems that if I give it a few hours, it doesn't happen, but it's pretty annoying. At first I thought it was just with Halo 5, but then it happened when I was watching HWC on the Twitch App, and then when I was playing Metal Gear Solid V.

I also tried using another controller, but it did the same thing, so I'm not sure if it's a controller problem or something with my Xbox. Another thing that would happen is it would constantly say my external hard-drive is connected. Idk if the two are connected,
but it's worth mentioning. Hope someone can help Controller/Console problem? :(

:)

controller or console?

I tried the pad firmware update yesterday and it said it was up to date.
The problem when it drop it just doesn't sometime re-connect, I was thinking about getting another controller to see if that was the problem.

Was it plugged into the Play & Charge kit or via USB at the time ?

Sounds like you have a faulty console. I'd recommend sending it in for a repair at myservice.xbox.com

Okay. I unplugged my external hard-drive, so I'll see how it works now. Though it wouldn't surprise me if I needed to send it in for repairs, as my console is a day one version lol. So what would happen if I do that? Would I lose any of my saved games/apps?
Sorry if I sound ignorant, I've never had to send one in for repairs before.

6. All your saved games and app/game purchases will be stored online with your profile. game saves will download when you first play the relative game (Beware, if you have loads of saves on a game like Fallout 4, it can take a while!) and any games and apps
will appear under "ready to install" in My Games & Apps.

7. I'm having a similar problem. My xbox is in a rack enclosure in a closet about 6 feet from where I play. However, my controller continually drops is connection, often during a crucial moment of gaming.

I would like to think that the controller signal is strong enough to push through a 2x4 wall, but the only way I've been able to maintain a connection is to plug it directly (via USB) into the console, which isn't really that elegant of a solution.

Is your xbox in an entertainment center or a cabinet?

Controller/Console problem?

Mine is on top of an entertainment unit. Although, yesterday I unplugged my external hard-drive and so far it's working fine.

10. Hi there

I have big issue with my xbox one controllers connectivity. I am currently finishing a football match (8min long) with my son in 45+ mins due to this and it disconnects almost 20-25 times during this period - each time for a min or so.

I have had enough of my console which I bought around 3-4 months ago. I have sent it to MS once for a repair (as advised by their customer service support) but at the end they could not locate any faults with it. I DO NOT want to keep this console anymore.
Do you know what my options are?

Thanks

Console or controller problem?

Thank you Brad for your answer

X, Y, B, and A buttons plus the cross on the left (i don't know how to call it) work for some minutes and then they stop working .

Very weird because all the others works

Problem with Console/Controller
I'm always connected through play'n'charge cable with no batteries in clip
You do still have the battery pack in the back of the controller, though, correct? Even when empty the pack should be on the controller if you're
using the charging cable.
and problem occurs with both pads, and don't disappear even when I turn off game (by ejecting disc) and go back to dashboard, only solution is to reboot console,
Why wouldn't you try unplugging the power cable and then
reattaching it? That would force the controllers to sync up again with the console.
because when i plug them via playn'n'charge cable to my PC they works just fine.
You mean when you power the controllers from a PC USB port, they work fine with
the 360 for extended periods of time?

It sounds like your 360 is having trouble keeping the controllers powered continuously. Perhaps invest in a set of rechargeable batteries and a charger? Then you wouldn't need to power them via the P&C cable.
