    Controller console power issue


    I've got an unusual problem and I hope someone can help me out.

    I can't say when it started, but every 4 days, on the dot, my controller refuses to power on the console. The only way to "fix" this problem is to unplug the console and allow it to restart. A hard reset (power button hold for 10 seconds) does not correct
    the issue.

    I don't use Kinect and there's no way to voice activate the console as the controller isn't connected.

    Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there a solution which doesn't involve unplugging my console?

    I really, really, really do not want to factory reset my console. I have over 500GB of games on the console and reinstalling them would take nearly 2 weeks.

    Yeah if you try to us the US power supply in India odds are youll likely fry you xbox.

    Sorry to hear about the controller issues. Does this issue occur with multiple controllers or just one controller? I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps if you haven't already to see if we can get this issue sorted.

    Please give the following steps a try:



    • Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 5 seconds.
    • Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
    • Remove the batteries from your controller.
    • Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console and insert the batteries into the controller.
    • Power on your console and once your controller is connected, try powering off your console to see if the issue continues.

    Please give the suggested steps a shot and let us know if you are continuing to experience the issue.

    Help! My black controller isn't working even though I followed Miss Portia's steps.

    Issue resolved by turning the console off, disconnecting it from the power supply for at least 30 seconds. After that connect power source, start up the console and synchronize the controllers via the sync buttons on console and controller again.

    Hi there !

    If you are continuing to experience the controller drift issue and haven't already, I recommend trying the following steps:

    Make sure that your controller has fresh batteries and that your controller is updated.

    Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.

    Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.

    Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.

    Power on your console and try resyncing the controller to your console again.

    You would need to buy the correct power brick for India as a U.S. one wont work.
