I have an XBOX 1S and my contoller has stopped connecting with the console. Can anybody help, please?

How to connect a wireless controller to an Xbox 360 console

If you want to connect a wireless controller to your console, follow the steps bellow:

First, you need to turn on the console.

Insert the AA batteries into the controller.

Now you need to turn on your controller by pressing and holding the center Xbox Guide button. You should check the batteries if the controller does not turn on. If it is a rechargeable controller, you’ll have to ensure that it is charged properly.

After turning on the controller, you need to press and release the connect button on the console.

You also have to press and release the connect button on the controller within 20 seconds to connect the controller to the console.

Notes

When the controller is connected, the lights surrounding the power button on the console stop flashing.

You are allowed to connect four controllers to a console. Each connected controller is assigned to one of four positions and each position corresponds to a lighted section around the console’s power button and the controller’s Xbox Guide button.

DESPERATE for help !

for anyone with controller issues, this popped up in tonight's preview update.
A fix to address an issue for users who find their controller will no longer connect via a wireless connection, and only works over USB. If this has occurred to you, after taking this system update, you will be able to connect your controller via a USB cable and wait a few seconds before unplugging it. This will recover your controller and you will be able to connect wirelessly. It is expected that subsequent controller firmware updates will fail. This will be addressed in a later system update.

So recently my Xbox wasn’t connecting to the internet at all. The servers weren’t shut down, the Xbox would just not connect to the wifi. The Xbox gave me a notification that it had to do with a problem with the connection of the controller. The
controller would have to be restarted and connect to the wifi. It restarted the controller but it wouldn’t connect to the Xbox. I tried syncing the controller like when I first got it, I tried other controllers, and I even tried using a cable to connect the
controller to the Xbox, yet it still won’t connect.

Other controllers works?

All controller don't connect/work? Or only one? (maybe your preferred controller)

Updates:

Paired both controllers to console at the same time. Both controllers lost and regain sync at the same time.

Paired Elite controller to iPhone. No disconnects.

Paired one controller to console and other to phone. Controller connected to console disconnected, controller connected to iPhone stayed connected.

If you cannot connect controllers, use several different cords to connect the controller to the Xbox, make sure there is a usb type connector at the bed of the cord that is connected to the controller, and then go to settIngs and then accessories, click
on the controller, and then see if it needs any updates or connect it to your account
