  1. Controller Connection Issues on the Series X

What’s up guys. Just some context before I get in to the meat of this post. The last few days since I’ve set up my Series X, the controllers I use will (often) begin having connection issues and will then disconnect entirely from the console. This happens constantly, and there’s no real rhyme or reason to when it happens it seems. I’ve also gone through the numerous troubleshooting suggestions from MS as you’ll read about down below.

Anyways, let me know if there’s anything else anyone can think of, or if you’ve had similar issues.

    ———

Just received the new Halo Edition console, and have cycled through multiple different Xbox One, S, and Series controllers, and ALL of them have had connection issues with my console.

I’ve power cycled each of them, I’ve used them hard-wired with a USB cable, and I’ve even reset my console multiple times. I’ve moved it off of the shelf I have it on, to set it on a table in the center of the room, and NOTHING seems to help.

When I plug in and play games on my One X, there are no issues, aside from the standard gameplay limitations being on a less-powerful system.

But yeah. Aside from that, my One X is performing better than the Series X at the moment. I mean, load times don’t mean anything when I can’t even reasonably play the game I want without constantly disconnecting.

It’s great when I’m in a party too and my buddies can hear when my controller starts to go, as the audio drops in and out.

It’s been MONTHS of people having issues with this as well from what I’ve seen on the MS forums. I’d love to use my new system, but can’t when the controller continues to drop.

Edit: all controllers are fully up to date, the only thing that seems to help is having the controller plugged in to the console, which is obviously less-than ideal.

The controllers are usable, and are connected, but won’t remain connected for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. Even while connected though, the audio drops in and out and is all but unusable with my headset.

DISCONNECTED CONTROLLER X BOX SERIE X WITH BATTERY END CABLE

Hello, I´m Jamie. an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

I am sorry your facing an issue with the Series X.

Can you confirm whether it is the controller not connecting to the Series X or the Series X not connecting to the TV?

    Vanguard Controller issue ...

Connecting the controller with a USB cable doesn't work,

Controller still disconnects even with a USB cable connected,

I have the same issue with Series X using mouse and keyboard for Call of Duty Vanguard.

I played during the beta and there was no problems with the controller disconnecting but as soon as the game released, the controller disconnects,

I've tried a Xbox One controller Series X controller, with batteries and a USB cable, and the controllers still disconnects.

Xbox controller working but Xbox not seeing the commands

    Hi

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft community.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with your Xbox Series X where the controller is working, but the Xbox is not responding to the commands. I'm sorry to hear that you are facing this issue, but I'm here to help you resolve it.

Firstly, I would suggest you try resetting your Xbox Series X and your controller. To reset your Xbox Series X, press and hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off. Then, unplug the power cable from the back of the console and wait for 10 seconds before plugging it back in. Turn on your console and check if the issue is resolved.

To reset your controller, press and hold the Xbox button on the controller for 10 seconds until it turns off. Then, press the Xbox button again to turn it back on. Once the controller is on, try to connect it to your Xbox Series X and check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you try updating your Xbox Series X and your controller to the latest software version. To update your Xbox Series X, go to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Console update. To update your controller, connect it to your Xbox Series X using a USB cable and go to Settings > Devices & accessories > Accessories > Xbox Wireless Controller > Device info > Firmware version. If there is an update available, follow the on-screen instructions to update your controller.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you try connecting your controller to your Xbox Series X using a USB cable and check if it works. If it does, then the issue could be with the wireless connection between your controller and your Xbox Series X. In this case, I would suggest you try resetting your wireless connection by going to Settings > Devices & accessories > Accessories > Xbox Wireless Controller > Disconnect > Connect.

If none of the above steps work, I would suggest you contact Xbox support for further assistance. They will be able to provide you with more advanced troubleshooting steps and help you resolve the issue.

I hope this helps you resolve the issue with your Xbox Series X. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

We look forward to your response.

    Truly Yours,

    Fatima

Xbox series X controller issue. Buttons not registering.

Unfortunately the above did not help. This is a common issue among many with the controllers for the series X and S. Microsoft needs to really put their things together and go for a patch and better controllers. I am close to getting rid of the console because of all these issues. I had drifting, I had connectivity problem and now this. It's a shame that nowadays controllers appear to be such rubbish. Used the controllers for my ps4 pro for years and never had an issue. However, the series x/s ones seen quite inferior.... Sad story
