Controller Charge?

So i have the standard wireless xbox one controller with AA batteries in it and recently i began to plug it in instead of using batteires, but now when i use batteries it says they are low even though they are BRAND NEW BATTERIES. whats going on!?

XBox One Controller Blinking despite charged battery?

I would say if updating the controller, hard resetting the xbox or re-sinking the controller doesn't work..... You probably have a knackered controller.

Controller

I bought a silver xbox 360 controller a year and a half ago and used it occasionally. What it did a couple of weeks ago was lose charge (randomly shut off) I thought I didnt charge it but realized that it was fully charged. A day later it worked fine but
still sometimes shut off. Now it just doesn't work in general, infact when I go to charge it it does nothing. If I put brand new batterys in the pack it blinks for a second then faintly glows and finally dies. I plan to buy a new controller I just want to
know why that one **** itself.

Plugging it in charges the battery pack of you have a battery pack. Doubt it's good for the batteries you had in there. If You want to play with a wired controller I would take the batteries out or buy a play and charge kit

As far as the controller charging.. I don't believe any controller does this except the Elite 2 control. I could be wrong on this.

If you wanted to charge the controller, you would need to use the Play & Charge kit that consists of a rechargeable battery and a usb charging cable.

All the play and charge kit is, is a cable and a battery that goes in the controller. Battery has to be in the controller to charge, they haven't announced a separate charging station

this also happens if a controller is plugged in with a charge pack... if the controller battery pack isn't at full charge it will continue to charge until full even if console power is off.

Have you charged the controller since you got it? Any micro USB cord will charge the controller

The problem is with the controller and the cable (more than likely)

Just plugging in the cable will not charge the controller. You have to make sure the wire and the controller are sitting perfectly still from start to finish of the charging.

Also ensure that the orange light is on (if you're using the play and charge kit)....if you are not, then you will need to charge the batteries independent of the xbox one controller
