CONTROLLER CHANGES DURING GAMEPLAY

Tried the reset, same problem right away.

Two restarts needed.

The issue started pretty much right away.

Have been trying to contact support, but they are never open when I'm available😂

Not a part of the Insider Program, unfortunately.

It would appear that this is a controller problem, but there is no service center available near me..

Kind of a worst case scenario this😂

I'm gonna try to reset the console, and then we'll see.

Has this issue just started recently or did you notice issues right from the start when you purchased your console?

Also, are you part of the Xbox Insider program?

There are currently Series X|S known issues, which are being fixed.

Try reset your console (there’s an option to keep games and apps). This would reinstall/refresh the system and delete any potentially corrupted files so should

resolve, or at least improve controller performance and functionality.

If you decide to reset your console, make sure you know your account email address and password, as you’ll need to reinstall your profile.

If this doesn't help, your controller might need to be repaired. Submit a service repair for your controller and/or console, as it sounds like there may be a hardware fault.

Just a few questions to help pinpoint what's causing this error and so we can assist better:

1. What Xbox console are you using - Xbox One or Series X|S?

2. Are you using a wired or wireless controller and is it a genuine Microsoft one or a third party controller?

3. Is this only happening in games or in apps and/or the Home screen too?

4. Are you experiencing this issue with other controllers? - I'd recommend trying to see if the issue occurs with a different one, if you're able to.

5. Does it disconnect unexpectedly (check controller light) or is it just a latency/response issue?

Make sure the controller is updated to the latest firmware and there's no wireless interference between the console and controller. Also disconnect any other accessories then power cycle your console, following instructions here

If this issue persists, even after the troubleshooting steps contact support

Try the controller on another Xbox console, if possible. - This would help identify if it’s definitely an issue with the controller.

One more thing you could try is connecting the controller using a USB cable (one should’ve been included when you purchased the console, or with a play & charge kit). This may help, you also won’t need to use batteries as it would be a wired connection.

- I understand this isn’t a permanent solution but at least it can be a temporary fix/workaround until the issue is resolved.

You may need to get your console and/or controller repaired (most likely just the controller as it sounds like this is where the problem is). If the controller is within warranty, repairs and replacements are free

Requesting a repair would be the best option, the team will be able to run a diagnostic test on the controller,

identifying the issue and what’s causing it. If they’re unable to fix the problem, you should be sent a replacement.
