Controller came broken, was sent a broken replacement and now they want me to pay for shipping.

I have been trying to get a working controller for over a month. Now you want me to pay to return the broken controller that you sent me. I personally find this completely unacceptable. I was already ticked the controller that came with my system was broken
forcing me to buy another immediately if i wanted to use it (it could not be returned as it was a gift). Now after I receive the replacement controller that had a button not working (was brand new in the box) you make me pay to return the broken controller.
I understand the chance of getting two broken brand new controllers is slim but how this was handled seemed very dismissive and had to follow "standard procedure". Even the support guy agrees with me.

Here is his statement - "I understand where you are coming from , if you were to ask me indeed you have the right to get a shipping label but we really do not have that option here on my end and giving you a free month earlier was the best I could
do."

I honestly don't need a month of online use as I am not a gold member anymore anyway. Just wanted to put this here stating I was an unhappy customer. You got me by the balls so I guess I will be paying to receive the controller that I should have had
in the first place.

Xbox One Day One Controller broken

Mine came with a broken controller (Day One Edition) out of the box. Microsoft support wants me to pay for shipping to send it to them, pay for shipping of the replacement -- all while waiting 10-13 days controllerless on a brand new $500+ dollar console.
Way to go, Microsoft.

 

I had to pay to ship my Broken Controller to be Replaced?

I needed a Replacement controller due to the Fact that the DPad does not register when I press Down on it, so I made a Replacement Order since it was under Warranty. I had to pay to ship it.....Why should I have to pay to ship Microsoft's broken controller
when they should have shipping included....? I believe they should refund me the money I had to pay to ship the Controller.

Really sorry to hear the frustrations you're having with this. As you mentioned, the chances of receiving a second broken controller is extremely unlikely. Unfortunately with replacements on accessories there is a cost for shipping. It sounds like the chat
agent looked into this the best they could, unfortunately we aren't able to offer you alternative compensation.

I have had a very similar issue, I had an elite controller for Xmas, it's left stick was very loose so I managed to arrange a replacement though Xbox service center using live chat.

I was very impressed with the service and it was free of charge.

However after waiting 2 weeks for the replacement....The replacement was also defective. In fact it was much worse than the original, the sticks where fine, but this one will not cstay connected to the Xbox for more than 3 seconds. (I tried fresh batteries
and 2 different fully charged Xbox battery packs) I also tried all the methods to synchronize to the Xbox.

I have managed to arrange another replacement but they originally wanted to charge me for the service.

After talking with a helpful live chat person they wavered this charge. But it has bow been 3 days and I am yet to receive my UPS shipping label.

I am now just being told to wait.

Am I just unlucky or are the elite pads poorly manufactured?
