Controller Broken Post April Update

immediately after updating my controller for the April update it will no longer do the following:

-sync via wireless or remain synced

-Turn the Console on

-Function at all unless it is plugged in via USB BEFORE the console is powered on.

Once it is plugged in, and the console turned on, I can unplug the USB and it works as intended, but if the controller or console is powered off I am back to square one. Any help? I'm using the headset adapter and the microsoft stereo headset with the
controller, same behaviors no matter if those things are connected or not.

The only thing I haven't tried is syncing via kinect because my kinect is out for repair. Any wisdom anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Stereo Headset and Adapter Issues

"As of the April 2014 Xbox One System Update, the firmware update for the controller and stereo headset adapter has been updated and includes significant improvements to audio quality with the Stereo Headset Adapter and the process of updating controllers.
If you have taken the update previously and are having issues with your stereo headset adapter, please update your controller again with the latest Controller Update. You can update your controller by going to Settings, System, and then Controller update."

It is now April and still no update. So this means by the end of April?

Did you update your controller yet? The recent April update made everyone re-update their controllers.

 

Try power down on console hold 5/8 secs turn on and update again

 

I've done the hard reset several times, unplugged the system for a few minutes even, still the same problem

 

Having same problem with controllers. Able to move throughout the home screen, but the buttons are not acknowledged. Have to use my Kinect commands just to get to use my cable tv!

 

A bit of an update on my issue,

I got a hold of another controller and the box won't recognize it either, I went through support and they had me do everything including a factory reset and still nothing. I'm guessing my only recourse is to try and get the console itself serviced. Such
a terrible hassle considering my box is only 3 months old and the kinect broke on it just before this.

 

Most likely it is a software issue. My controller stopped turning on the Xbox as well, but for me, the update DID fix the issue where the controller would disconnect from the system. Honestly, I wouldn't send it in to get serviced. If those are your only
issues, they can be patched. If you did end up sending it in, you might get a busted Xbox with a bad disc drive or something. I wouldn't risk it.
