Controller Battery Indicator and HDMI output worries

First this is my first console, except for the wii, and well a super nintendo, So I can't really complain in term of graphics, has I am not a hardcore gamers, I bough the xbox one thinking the multimedia and the game on the same feature would be great for
the familly. However explaining the price of 500$ for this thing has been rought. Although the Wii did let me down in support of playing dvd and graphics games, it and as always been consistent. The recent update to the xbox one has made me a bit worry, first
I cannot prove but it was stated that my cable box could of broke because of the xbox one update, weird but probable. The technician stated that a surge on the hdmi connection could happend, and when I installed the update, it is at that my moment that my
hdmi output broke. Not a big problem for now since that the box is always in warranty, but if their is an update once a month than I would have big issue. My bigger problem and I am not sure if this is just occuring to me or to other member, but when I press
home 50% of time the battery indicator is not there, I have to go to setting or an other screen then press home button again to see it. Forget to see it when i say xbox go home. To me this should always be there, its very inconsistent, and make me very worries
in the future update that would just screw up even more.

Anyway I like the potential of the system, I think the graphics are amazing, and the kinect works great, I am obviously coming from nintendo and I feel a big let down on the stability of the features, I already had to contact support since the system decided
to switch code and not communicate with the tv. Although they fix it in 2 minutes, I hope more feature will be available but more stable.

    :)

    Battery level indicator not accurate

The battery level indicator for the controller is not very accurate now after about 8 months of using a Charge and Play.

Sometimes the controller will disconnect even before a low battery warming. Once it's reconnected then the battery indicator shows red. But I will say the battery still seems to last the length of time I expect.

Is there a way to reset / recalibrate it.

Everything (controller and console) is always up to date.

  3. Controller Battery Life Indicator?

I have a play and charge for Xbox 360 controller for pc

Where is the battery indicator for windows 10?

I cannot tell when the charge is done on the Xbox app or the quick launch window, nothing.

I would suggest breaking down any issues into single problems and post them individually with a brief description. That way someone with experience that problem can help you out. As for the bulk of the comments I agree the system has massive potential but
it's not quite taken flight yet. It's a lot of money and like you I'll just have to be patient for them to update the Xbox One...

My battery indicator only shows up about 1/2 the time also. I have to open achievements and hit the logo button again to see it.

As for the hdmi "surge", I highly doubt it. HDMI is basically a purpose built network cable that communicates over short distances using rather low voltage. If the Xbox was to generate sufficient power to "burn-out" a device on the other end, the Xbox One
would be burned out also. You could have simply had an unrelated power surge. I suggest a surge protector.

My battery indicator shows up 100% of the time. Have you tried a reboot after you installed the update? Try this, with the console on, press and hold the power button on the console for 5 seconds until it shuts off. Unplug the power supply, wait about
30 seconds and then plug it in and reboot. You should see the green Xbox One splash screen upon reboot. It may take a minute to boot all the way to the home screen.

Interesting. My battery indicator only shows up if I press the Home button, otherwise it's never there. And I have rebooted every day since the update due to the other issues (black screen, yes/no not working).

The battery indicator and clock will eventually fade away, but any time you press Home you should see it again.

There is a known issue that might be causing your complaint. When a controller is first turned on and connected, it can take up to 30s for the controller to report battery level. Currently there is no battery indicator shown until that happens, but after
that ~30s you should always see it when you press Home.

I never see the controller battery indicator.
