controller battery drain?

so I updated my controller last night after doing the xbox one update! left the controller to fully charge unplugged it after the light turned to white! before the update my pad lasted well over e week on one charge! I have just turned my xbox one on little
under 24 hours and its telling me my battery needs charging again?? I am using the plug an play charge pack that I bought with the console? the official one?? please help?

Remove the battery from the controller, while the battery is out hold on the power button of the controller for 1 minute while the battery is out and then plug the battery back in and turn on the controller, let me know if it worked

 

BRAND NEW rechargeable battery pack not working

So I got my Xbox 360 and a controller with play and charge kit this Christmas, and the battery that came with the controller package will not recharge. The battery was starting to run low today so I decided to charge it. The light on the charge cables
won't come on and I've confirmed the battery is the problem by switching out the battery on the same controller, by putting the battery in a different controller, and by changing charge cables. Could this battery have come faulty new in the package?

 

What the hell the control pad was showing it needed to be charged right, it was in the red, ive plugged it in for ten minutes MAX an now the light has turned white??

I am having a similar issue. The play and charge kit is only a month old but it won't hold a charge. When almost dead I connect it to the Xbox One via the cable, the light glows amber (charging), then come back the next morning. Unplug the cable, play for
a short while and the batteries are dead again. Can't exchange the kit since it's past my return window. Can I buy just the battery pack somewhere?

 

I'm pretty sure the battery is only offered as a packaged deal. ( play and charge kit) You likely can find third party rechargeable battery packs by themselves,as well as with a charge cable for around 10-15 bucks. I myself prefer to stick with the official
branded accessories though.
