Controller battery dies and cant switch controllers while in chat?

So i was in party chat playing with friends in the middle of a match when my controller died, no big deal right? Just grab another and slap the old one on the charge kit and throw the headset on the freshly charged one. NOPE doesnt work. The controller worked
just fine, started right back up and was back to playing the game. But now one one could hear me. I had to take the battery out of both my controllers and swap them and put the headset back on the controller i started chat with.

Whats going on with this?

Is the Xbox One battery cover a bit loose on your controller?

actually it's smarter to have a battery option since if your controller dies you can pop in two AAs and be on your way fully charged instead of having a cord running from console to controller while playing games like in 2004. Plus the controller has a rechargeable battery pack/cable you can pick up for like $25 and never have to buy batteries again if you prefer, honestly im surprised people still don't know this?

 

Controller shutting off pauses game?

Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed that stops the "please reconnect your controller message" and pausing the game when the controller shuts down?

I suppose in most cases it'd be quite handy, if your in the middle of something and the battery dies at least it doesn't mess everything up if it pauses.

Playing Rocksmith, there are times when, if you're playing a load of songs, you may not touch the controller for a while and it'd be good to be able to switch the "feature" off.

 

What you need to do when you use the new controller is go to your Home screen, up the top left left click on the users list, highlight your Gamertag and select Choose This Person.

This will assign that controller to the Gamertag and your chat headset will start working through it again.
