  1. Controller Auto Off

Ever since the NXOE update, my controller has been a bit flakey in regards to the auto off timer. Most of the time it works like normal (shuts itself off after about 15 minutes), but every once in a while the controller doesn't turn itself off when it is
sitting idle even for hours if I am doing something like watching tv that I am not using it but the console is still on.

As reference, I have a 1TB console, and the controller is one of the new 3.5mm versions.

Any one else ever see this, or have any fixes/suggestions?

    :)

I’m wondering if Microsoft is working on adding adjustable timers to the controllers auto-off.

Is there an inability from Microsoft/Xbox one/Xbox one controller to add a feature to set the auto-off timer to different intervals such as 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour and possibly always on?

Does Microsoft plan on “fixing” this? I feel like such a trivial task is simple to add.

This is actually a deal breaker for me, having been a PlayStation owner since the original I’ve only just recently switched to Xbox because my younger brother games on Xbox.

My main use of my systems’ these days are streaming including Netflix and TV from the internet. An example of issue is while watching shorter shows of even 20minutes i need to fumble for my controller and switch it on each and every episode. This is very
aggravating and on top the controller being TERRIBLE already compared to ps4 due to the lack of charging.

I feel like this is some cavemen technology and a step backwards from previous systems. Such a small thing but just the principle of it is what ticks me off.

So answer me this Microsoft, will you fix my issue by adding this feature? Am I barking up the wrong tree assuming it’s such an easy fix? Is the controller or system just not capable of being changed to do this?

Please let me know, and of course make this quick fix! Before the holiday season so that I can continue to invest in Xbox or solve the issue myself with a new PlayStation pro!

  3. Controller auto off

    Hi there,

When I don't want my controller to shut off, I make sure it's plugged into the console via USB cable. Or I use the media remote. I know that's not always practical for users as it limits how far from the TV/console they can be or it's another accessory to
    purchase.

If you haven't done so already, you should post the suggestion in the feedback site: Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice. That's where the right people will see it that can do something.

If it's plugged in via USB to the console it will not shut itself off. If it's plugged in to a different power source (PC, USB wall adapter) or it's being used wirelessly, it should shut itself off after a period of inactivity.

If this is what you're experiencing, then everything is fine; if not, let us know more details and we can try to assist.

  6. Wireless when it happens. Also have had a headset plugged in to the 3.5mm port lately, which I rarely did before the NXOE update.

Noticed today that my right analog stick is slightly loose in comparison to the left stick. Would a slight amount of slop away from center cause the controller to stay on? It isn't loose enough to cause any on screen drift or actual commands to register
yet though that I have noticed.

Controller and console are less than 6 months old at this point.
