so I've been having a problem with my Xbox one controller, it randomly disconnects and the 3.5 port will randomly stop working. I've been through all the troubleshooting and the system advised me to request a replacement, and when i tried it told me that
my controller wasn't eligible to be repaired/replaced and directed me to buy a new one. i don't understand how this is possible as the controller came with the console and i only bought it December 2015. I'm hoping this is just a system glitch and someone
from Microsoft will be able to help me with this problem.

Sorry you're having issues with your controller. The issues that you're describing does sound like faulty hardware unfortunately. As such per the accessory warranty if you've had it over 90 days, the only option would be to purchase a new controller. Totally
understand how frustrating that can be. If you've had it less than 90 days please go to this link and request a repair on the controller. Below is the link to the Xbox Warranty.

When you buy an Xbox One console, the console itself comes with a
one year warranty.

Included accessories such as the chat headset and controller each come with a
90-day warranty.

Both warranties start from the date of purchase. This is outlined in the
product warranty page. Unfortunately at this point in time, your only option is a new controller replacement.

As states the controller and the console have different warranties. That why its currently stating its not covered.

That is sad, I thought the whole unit had a year warranty. Microsoft does not believe in there controller products if they just warranty for 90 days. Thank You, Lewis

Thats becsuse only the console itself is covered until 2021

Controllers only are covered for 90 days unless you buy a design labs or elite

Hello!

The warranty on the Xbox system and the controller often have a different warranty length. In the US the Console has a 12 month warranty, but the controller has a 90 day warranty.

I would definitely contact support directly to get the warranty issue resolved, since it should definitely still be under warranty. They would also be able to confirm the warranty on the controller itself.
