Controller and/or Xbox freezing

I've having a major issue with my Xbox One:

- the controllers won't connect wirelessly at all; and

- when I connect with a USB cable, the system is responsive for a few seconds, then it freezes for a few seconds, then it's responsive for a few seconds - this pattern continues indefinitely.

I've tried all the advice in the general support threads and finally did a factory reset - nothing made any difference.

Any suggestions? Or am I off to the repair shop?

Controller freezing on text input

Since the big update recently, my controller keeps freezing up and becomes unresponsive whenever a text input screen appears, the xbox controller is still on and button on the controller lit up. The only way to fix it is to clear the cache

I think that what you are experiencing is a hardware failure and it would be better if you register your console and send it for repairs:

Worthless answer. Clearly this person knows about the option to send a console in and is trying to avoid that particular pain in the ***. If you don't know the answer, don't answer.

each time it's freeze, I press the xbox button on my controller and my controller vibrate, I wait 1 minute and then the screen goes black and the xbox completly freeze.

Hi,just to be more clear,this is my dads xbox and after he tells me to stop playing,his controller freezes a few times then it stops freezing.This is with any controller and it doesn't freeze on the other Xbox.

After a while with a cable, the controller will freeze with the Xbox light still on while the OS thinks that the device is working normally. In the game/program, the last button I pressed would freeze (i.e. walking forward indefinitely) and the controller would be unresponsive until I unplug it and re-plug it back in. Same thing happens in Bluetooth, except after it freezes, it will reconnect.

I enjoy the game, but the freezing really is out of control. Froze a ton in campaign and I freeze in multiplayer. Contacted support and was told it was my xbox or the disc, etc etc.

Hi there,

when you are trying to use the controller on the Xbox 360, do you do that with or without the wireless usb adapter.

Be sure to try it without when trying, since it shouldn't be needed on the 360 console. Use the pairing buttons on console and controller to establish a connection like show here:
