    Controller Analog Stick Drift

Hey everyone, it seems that a couple of days ago my Xbox One controller's right analog stick seems to get stuck in an upward position. Because of it getting stuck like that, many games and other applications will end up looking up or scrolling up indefinetely.
I thought maybe it was dirty underneath the stick so I tried using rubbing alcohol with a q-tip to rub around the edges. This hasn't done anything at all and I'm at a loss. I've also tried registering my console over the course of 3 days for warranty but
it keeps telling me it can't register my console. If anyone can alleviate my dilemma here it would be much appreciated.

    :)

    Wireless Controller Analog Stick Drift

Has anyone else bought a brand new controller with drift on one of the analog sticks? I got one of the chrome controllers the other day and the right stick has drift on it. It makes playing games like Halo 4 very frustrating as the camera moves to the left
if i don't manually centre the stick myself. Does anyone know if Microsoft replace these controllers? Thanks.

  3. Controller issue on PC

I want to assume that you're describing a "drift" in the controller analog stick.

My very first controller experienced this after playing a lot of BF4. In order to run, you had to press down the analog stick, many times while holding the analog stick in a certain direction to keep moving.

If this is present the PC settings will show as if you're holding it down in a slight direction at all times when left sitting. You could attempt to have the controller replaced..... myservices.xbox.com

    Controller Analog Stick Drift

Typically that is an issue that can't be resolved by any user troubleshooting techniques. If the controller is under warranty then you can request a repair/replacement by going through support support.xbox.com/.../contact-us
    or replacement it yourself.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Stick drift means the analog is shot and needs to be replaced.

OMG the most honest answer on this subject, this problem has been around since the xb1 release. which proves most controllers defective. either pay for replacement that will do same thing, or fix it urself. u paid for it but have to fix it. and honestly
that's not the only thing ur going to fix on xb1

  7. Hey all, we do not recommend opening your controller and trying to replace any components. This would void any warranty on the controller. The best thing you can do is contact our Chat and Phone teams to see if the controller is still under warranty and
replace the controller if needed. Contact Us

Like others on this thread I have just spoken to someone through the chat feature. Microsoft's solution? pay for a replacement. I am absolutely disgusted that they are not even prepared to try and fix this even though it seems like this is a wide spread
issue. having spent a lot of money on Microsoft hardware over the years I would expect a much better service than this and I will be raising this complaint further.

Xbox 360 controller - Bring it back!

I find it a bit funny that people look back on the 360 controller so fondly. Sure I didn't have any that just stopped working completely but I did have 2 with broken mic jacks and a bunch with drifting analog sticks.

The early 360 white controllers were good but they cheeped out later on and produced junk analog sticks that would only last a few months before they would start drifting.

I'm fine with the X1 controller but the analog sticks seem to still be prone to drifting. They need to beef the analog sticks up but I don't see that happening it's a way for them to sell more controllers.

Anyone having problems with Geralt auto walking when you stop?

Not happening to me. Sounds like your controller's analog stick is drifting. Do you have another controller to test with?

Sounds like your analog sticks are drifting. I went through a lot of controllers on 360 with that problem.

    Day One controller thumsticks drifting

I am having the same problem. My left analog stick is drifting up, and it is getting worse, almost to the point where I can't control it. Microsoft needs a fix, nothing is broken in the controller, seems like a calibration is needed. Is there a way to
    recalibrate the analog sticks?

CONTROLLER ISSUES - NO HELP FROM MICROSOFT

@CrypticBoz - the issue of the failing analog sticks has been of public knowledge for nearly two years and they've not addressed it, in fact the Elite controllers which are being sold on the pitch that they are of superior durability and craftsmanship as
to extend its longevity when on the contrary they are actually of the same shoddy build as the original controllers as they sport the same plastic pieces on the analog module that fail as with the original controllers, this is what causes the analog sticks
to fail and to develop stick drift
