Controller A Button intermittently not working on home screen

I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue with my controller. I just got an Xbox One and used it for the first time yesterday. I noticed that the "A" button intermittently has issues clicking a tile on the home screen. Sometimes I have to rapidly
hit that button to get the tile clicked. This is happening with both of my wireless controllers. button seems to work fine once playing games. So far, it seems to only be an issue in the xbox home, friends, and other "tile" screens. Any thoughts as to
the issue? I have already powered everything down and back up and the problem persists. I'm stumped and it is really annoying.

Problem

My Xbox is not signing in and every time I press the sign in option on the home screen or the home button on the controller it doesn't but shows an error and asks to go to home and press menu button for help but when I press the menu button it doesn't work
and the home button is not working but it shows an error. I've tried restarting it but it does not help.???

 

Xbox Home button not working

My Xbox One will not respond to the Xbox home button on the controller. I am confident that it isn't a broken controller because both of my controllers started having the problem at the same time (yesterday). I updated both controllers to see if that fixed
it and it has not been solved.

None of these commands are working: tap the home button once to get home, twice to pull up the snap menu, hold the home button to get the option of turning off your xbox/controller. When I hold down the home button, it just turns off my controller without
a prompt on the screen. I don't know how to fix this.

• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
• Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Remove the batteries from your controller.
• Wait 5 minutes and then reinsert the batteries into your controller and plug in your console.
  
• Power on your console and check to see if the issue continues to occur.
