Control moving up and down

If your Xbox controller is moving up and down by itself, there may be an issue with the controller itself or with the console. Kindly try the steps below and see if it helps.

- Update the controller firmware

- Check for interference: Make sure that the controller is not near any other electronic devices that may be causing interference.

- Try a different controller: Try using a different controller to see if the problem persists. If the problem only occurs with a specific controller, it may be a hardware issue that requires repair or replacement.

- Restart the console

- Check the battery level

- Check the game settings: Some games have settings that allow you to adjust the sensitivity of the controller, check the settings of the game you're playing and adjust it accordingly.

If you've tried all the above and the problem still persists, it could be a hardware problem and it may be best to contact Xbox support or take it to a local service center or game shop near you, they might be able to help you troubleshoot the problem and repair or replace the controller if necessary.

I'm sorry to hear that. Kindly try to refresh your operating system and delete all potentially corrupted data that restricts you from using your console normally without deleting your games or apps.​​​​​​​

Note: Make sure that you know your account logins before doing this step. Also, this will remove all your Home Xbox associations.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info > Reset console.

3. On the Reset your console? screen, you'll select Reset and keep my games & apps.

If you can't do it, kindly try this;

-Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection then power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

-Wait 30 seconds.

-Plug the power cord back in.

-Press and hold the BIND button (the one used to sync controllers) and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox Power button on the console.

-Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds and listen for two power-up tones a couple of seconds apart.

-Once you hear the 2nd tones please release the button.

-If this is successful the Xbox will turn on and should start and show the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. On the Troubleshooter page, please select Reset this Xbox and then choose "Keep games and apps".

Hi I tried everything, but I didn't try the local service center or game shop, I think it's a system error, I tried to change to another controller but everything is the same, I tried to control it with the xbox app, but it's still the same, it moves up or down and left or right everything is fine

Left stick doesn't move up unless i push down on analog while moving up... whats worst is when controller is untouched the Up direction is continusly push up on menus,games,etc

Sounds like the controls are inverted. Hardcore gamers tend to prefer a control where pressing the joystick forward or up makes the character look down and vice versa. To see if this is the problem: 1)Click start, the small button in the right center of
most controllers, 2) Move the cursor to the second option "Help & Options" and press a, the green button on the right, 3) move the cursor to the third option "Controls" and click a on the controller, 4) near the middle of the screen will be a box that can
be checked called "Invert Look". If this is checked, it means moving the cursor down will make the character look up. If it is, move the cursor down one and when "Invert Look" is highlighted hit a on the controller.
