How long do AA batteries last in the Xbox One controller?

Picking up the Titanfall bundle at midnight and have been checking out a few Xbox One reviews. One review I read talked about how good battery life is in the controller and how they were unable to deplete two AA batteries even after a week of regular usage..
how accurate is this? I'm going away for the week next week and planned on taking my Xbox One with me however would rather not spend any more money on a play and charge kit if I can help it. I've got six brand new duracell ultra power batteries, think that'll
last me 7 days of regular usage?

Is the Xbox One battery cover a bit loose on your controller?

actually it's smarter to have a battery option since if your controller dies you can pop in two AAs and be on your way fully charged instead of having a cord running from console to controller while playing games like in 2004. Plus the controller has a rechargeable battery pack/cable you can pick up for like $25 and never have to buy batteries again if you prefer, honestly im surprised people still don't know this?

The controller takes regular AA batteries however there is this
official play and charge kit available for the controller that I find lasts for a long time and also comes supplied with a very long charging cable.

Depending on certain variables like, headset type, vibration settings etc. your play time on a single set of AA batteries can be impacted pretty heavily. Typically, I get anywhere from 15 to 20 hrs of game time out of a set of batteries before they need
to be changed. Charge and Play kits are a good bet, but the battery packs can wear out pretty quickly and will buzz in your headphones while you play and charge the controller simultaneously if you use something similar to a Turtle Beach or Triton headset.
You can also buy rechargable AA batteries from companies like Energizer that work in a similar fashion to the charge and play kit or simply just buy a longer micro USB cable and play with the controller plugged in constantly. The choice is up to you but
your issue here is pretty typical of any wireless device these days. Hope this helps!

Rechargeable AA batteries have a life span and it doesn't last for months or years based on there usage. I've used them and they died off after a month.

From my experience I would say that guy is lying through his teeth!

I was on standard Duracells with my Day 1 edition and my battery life was a week.

In the end I bought some rechargeable batteries that I have on a rotation system.

Play & Charge kit or rechhargeables are definatly the way to go.

OK. After i update my controller im having issues with the battery charge, no longer it assumes the charge, there is a led and it´s always off. Dont know what to do.

PS: Battery and cable work fine on other xbox controller

EDIT: After battery working 2 times on another Xbox controller she dies for life. Problem was on Battery. Sorry for the wrong reply.
