    Same issue here. It happens over and over again and with different external drives. I've had to start using my 360 to watch videos. So much for the XBox One being the "center" for all my media.

    I have tried all idea's and answer's and nothing works!! come on microsoft it did work but now all you get is "lost connection" everytime......im no IT guru but surely what ever has been updated on the media storage app is'nt working!

    Please tell me you's are working on a fix very soon.....like yesterday!

    This issue STILL has yet to be fixed. I'm having to resort to plugging my usb into the back of my TV instead of the One. This is a basic issue that has yet to be fixed. Is there any way to let the moderators know? The previous steps that have been given
    DO NOT WORK.

    this happens here too, completely randomly as well to be honest, sometimes it occurs within first 5 mins, sometimes 30 mins, sometimes near the end, sometimes not at all in that hour or two of a file.

  7. For me personally I've had this issue for months now. It was tolerable but now after the recent Media Player update (which I can't find update notes for) the device is losing connection a lot more frequently and a lot quicker too.

    For example before I could play about 15 songs or watch 70% of a film before losing connection. Now I'm down to 3-5 songs and about 20% of a film before losing connection.

    If there isn't going to be a fix anytime soon, could we at least get an update so the console or device recognises the last point we were at so we can resume playback because it's very frustrating to spend 4 minutes scrolling through a two hour film to get
    back to where I was.

    Happens to me a lot too. Not every time, but happens often enough where it is annoying. Especially in the last few minutes of a show or movie.

  12. Hey there MrVanHassel!

    We have received reports that this issue has been resolved. When you get a chance, please go ahead and try the following steps:

    • From the Home screen, navigate to My Games & Apps.
    • Select the Media Player app and press the Menu button.
    • Select Manage App and then select Media Player.
    • Press the Menu button again and select Uninstall.
    • Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
    • Once your console is powered off, wait a few minutes and power on your console.
    • Navigate to My Games & apps and select Media Player under the Ready to Install section.
    • Press the Menu button and select Install.
    • After the Media Player app has installed, try using a USB device to see if the issue continues.
    Give the suggested steps a try and be sure to let us know the results. Thanks in advance!

    I have also received the 0xc101008e (0x80072efe) exception but while streaming music from the PLEX media server to the XBOX One media player. Media player works fine for a while then throws the exception.

    I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the media player app.

    The network is hardwired using Cat 5 Ethernet and the network test is fine.
