Continued error message when trying to upload custom gamerpic

Hi folks,

I recently just got a new xbox profile. It's an adult account, but for some reason, I cannot change the gamerpic to a custom image. Every time I try, I get a message that says: "Sorry, something went wrong when uploading the image. Try again later."

I have tried uploading a custom picture in the following ways:

Connecting a flash drive to my console and uploading a custom picture this way (tried multiple images, changed the resolution so the image was big enough, tried .png and .jpg files, still keep getting the message). I'm using a wired internet connection,
so I don't think that's the issue.

Using the Xbox mobile app on Android (again, tried multiple files of different file types and sizes, still keep getting the message)

I've looked online to find a way to change it, but I don't see one

I've tried uploading at different times during the day, on mobile data vs. wifi, to no avail. Every time, I get the exact message mentioned above.

I have no idea what's going on, so any help would be appreciated!

The ability to change custom gamerpics is currently disabled.

I'm having the same problem. I contacted xbox live support and they even confirmed that i had an adult account and that i was listed as 18 but im still getting the error message "people under 18 can't upload custom gamerpics". I just want to be able to upload
custom gamerpics and I'm the right age to do so, yet I can't.

You need to be in the Alpha ring of the insider program to upload custom gamerpics via your console.

Or you can do it via the xbox beta app on a windows 10 pc.

If you're experiencing problems when uploading a custom gamerpic, first verify that you're on an adult account as the service isn't available for child accounts.

You can verify that by signing into the family settings page here https://account.microsoft.com/family/

Also note that your image must be at least 1080 x 1080 pixels.

It might take a little while for your custom image to appear while Xbox verifies that it’s OK to use. (If it’s not, the image will be reverted to the last gamerpic or avatar you were using.) If your gamerpic was rejected or you continue getting errors, try uploading a different one.
