Contacting those in the know.....Xbox One future.....

Bear with me as this will probably be a long post so my apologies before hand.

I should state a little about myself first.

I've been gaming for just about as long as I could walk. It started with the Intellivision lasting all the way to today.

I did take a break from consoles while in college. Having to use my computer for everything else, a friend talked me into buying the SIMS.

After that it was Jedi Outcast and I was sold. I would spend the next several years a PC gamer. That lasted until very recently.

Now I'm married with two children. I have a 16 year old and a 11 month old. (yes, I know) My wife is a gamer and my 16 year old is a gamer as well. So instead of continuing to buy three copies of every game so we could each play together at our respective
computers, my wife suggested that I should consider a console.

Being a PC gaming elitist I thought the idea was absurd. But I thought about it. Since I have a very young child in the home, I can't isolate myself in front of the PC like I could before. Maybe a console wasn't a bad idea. So I began considering the
differences between the PS4 and XBox one. One of the two would be my first console since the PS2.

As you good folks can probably tell, I bought the Xbox One. And until I opened that green box, was the first time I had touched anything Xbox related. I chose this system over the PS4 for a few solid reasons:

*I run windows 8 and I happen to love my windows phone, I thought they would sync beautifully.

*.NET framework built into the operating system

*accessible SDK for developers leading to better PC to console ports.

*A much better cooling solution than the PS4. After seeing the two systems tore down, this is a convincing reason alone. PC people know the power brick being on the outside is actually a lot better.

*TV, Blu Ray, etc. Yep, I'm one of those. I like the idea of a central system for my living room.

*NFL endorsed. As a football fan, this had a very tiny part in my choice, but still part of it.

*Games that were available at the time were better (Forza was out. Titanfall was coming)

*Sony's financial issues are not to be ignored.

*And lastly, the kinect. Yes indeed. The potential for that is enormous and I have yet to see anyone comment on what the kinect is capable of in a home theater setting.

So there you have the "who" part of my post. On to the meat and potatoes.

For years I've watched E3 but this was the first year I didn't skip over or completely ignore anything to do with consoles. Since we've all seen it, I wont bother to recap.

What I find disturbing is although Microsoft had a very solid presentation, I continue to read that Sony somehow won?

In fact, around the web you can find that not only is Sony destroying Microsoft, they are embarrassing Microsoft along the way.

As we all know the 5 to 7 million in sales each console has respectively is nothing to scoff at, there is a general consensus that Microsoft is failing.

Of course we all know that this isn't true but it's still disinformation. From Youtube to articles such as Forbes and even TIME, all continue to spew negative vomit around the world and it has caught on.

Odd that nobody notices that Microsoft has a better gaming library already, that its a better gaming solution for adults, etc.

Nope, just how bad Microsoft is being beaten by Sony.

Disinformation of any kind has always left a bad taste in my mouth but lately, it's starting to irritate me.

So that brings me to "why" I'm here.

Years ago....many, MANY moons ago, I use to be a hell of an artist.

In fact, I still write and draw (even though poetry is my love).

I have a few ideas that I'm pretty convinced that not only could double Xbox one sales within a year and a half, could bury Sony at the next two E3s.

The only problem is, I don't want it to fall on deaf ears. And I'm certainly not going to just post them here.

Who do I talk to? Is there any contact information for Larry Hryb or dare I say, even Phil Spencer?

And even if I somehow managed to get a email to them, would they even read it? Could this post be passed along?

Hello WPAK, I'd like to let you know that the steps provided in the link did not help, but they do work on the 360, just not the one, I've tried. I will attempt contacting Microsoft in the future. Thank you for your help

As for the reception of Xbox, it will fade away over time. Some people are still feeling burned by the original idea of the XB1 and like to talk up PS4, even tho they are basically the same thing. Then there are the irrational kids who just flat spew garbage
on the web.

Competition is great and will help the Xbox thrive, just like the success of 360 helped Sony come out of the hole the PS3 put them in. Its funny how roles reversed this Gen. Sony came off of the success of PS2 & thought that everyone would buy a $600 console
& be happy. The 360 hit it big, MS then decided to push too far into the future & the general public flat out rejected it and said they would just go PS, which is basically a pumped up version of the 360. The only difference is that MS started Changes to
their console before it even launched while Sony took a few years before the PS3 was improved.

Few Questions if I may OP.

As a "gamer" wouldn't you want to be able to pass along this generations consoles to you children, and grandchildren?

If the servers ever went dark for good on the X1. Would your children, and grandchildren still be able to play, whether digital downloads, or disc, on it?

 

Try using feedback.xbox.com ... the Xbox team actively uses that site. This unfortunately isn't the place to pitch ideas on sales.

 

I'm not going to lie, I've never seen so much unnecessary information in my life. Also, you believe you could single handedly double the sales of the Xbox One? Full of yourself and arrogance would be understatements of the year. If you think you have some
good ideas, post them on the feedback site.

When people like your idea, they vote on it. Many of the suggestions there have already been implemented on Xbox One. An other thing you will see there, is many people who believe they single handedly have the answer to all of Xbox's problems. And then it
turns out, no one else agrees with their ideas.

I love the Xbox and want it to be ever more successful. If you have an idea that could aid in that, I'd love to see it implemented. But delusions of grandeur aren't going to help anyone. Post your thoughts on the feedback site. If they're good, I'll vote
on them myself.

 

The X Box One is no different now to the 360 just a bit more powerful! I believe the PS4 sales now have hit 9 million but they just sales figures.

As regards the future, 2015 you should hear more. Both companies plan and show their wares up to 12 months in advance. Which leaves certain gamers dejected, 2015 seems a long way away as yet. Is their a good reason to buy next gen yet ?

 

I believe the O.P. wants a shot at being on the Microsoft payroll, which is why I posted the link. Wouldn't he just state his idea otherwise?

yeah he would lol ... just saying .. he has a better chance of his supposed "idea" on the feedback site. if he's really really serious then he'd already know that those things are best left up to agents, lawyers and personal trips to Redmond.
