Nope I get "Contact the seller to get a code that works in your region. This code was purchased in a different region and cannot be redeemed."

I purchase from the Argentina region and I have that set on my console but the mobile app /Desktop set to US by default

Your friend will have to get a refund or gift the code to a friend in the same region. It does state whilst purchasing that gifting only works in the same region.

i understand the conversions and different laws regarding taxes stopping this, i just would like, if anything, for "Contact the seller to get a code that works in your region. This code was purchased
in a different region and cannot be redeemed." to be worded less hopefully.

Ok, there are a few reasons that the code will not work then.

1. You are accidentally typing in a different code - be sure that you are typing it in correctly. Sometimes O can be mistaken for 0 and B for 8

2. Gold codes are region locked - If your gamertag is not set for the same region that the code was meant for it will not work. Where did you purchase it from and which region (country) is your tag set for?

3. The code was not properly activated at the point of purchase - You'll need to contact the seller.
