Constantly getting an error when trying to redeem and xbox live pre paid code

When I try to redeem my 12 month pre paid code I keep getting an error that says

'' This payment option can't be used for this purchase. Please select a different payment option or add a new one.''

I know the code is valid because it give me the full description of it and the option to redeem it but when I try to

it gives me that error.

How do I fix this?

Error code 80155411

Hi there, I am getting error code 80155411 when I try to redeem my Pre-paid Xbox Live Gold - 12 months voucher.

Please help, what is the reason for the code. I couldn't pick up the error code on the support page.

Have you tried to redeem the code through Xbox.com or the console? Or both? And do you get the same error both places?

Error code is displayed when trying to use a pre paid Xbox Live subscription code when your Xbox Live gold is still in effect. You must wait for the subscription period to end before you can use the code. Pre Paid subscription codes cannot be used to extend
an Xbox Live subscription, only activate it

Thanks for making your post, just to clarify is the issue occuring with a Pre-Paid Microsoft Currency/ Xbox Live Gold gift card? Or a pre-paid Visa debit card?

Just to clarify, did you redeem a pre-paid code for Xbox Live or did you purchase an Xbox Live membership directly through the promotion on your Xbox One console? If you redeemed a pre-paid code, you will not qualify for this offer. Thanks in advance!
