    Constantly disconnecting from Xbox Live on 360


    So basically, the way our house is set up I can't connect to the modem via wired connection, and the only person who can edit the modem settings via setup is out of town for a while, but I tried clearing my cache, resetting my connections, resetting the
    modem and even tried several forms of troubleshooting. Can I please get some assistance with this? If you need additional information I can provide it but I was wondering if its perhaps just something that is common and is easily fixed

    Constantly disconnecting from XBOX Live - XBOX 360

    I disconnected my ethernet cable, reset my wifi connection settings, then re-entered my wifi password and redid the Network Statistics test over wifi... this led me to see that my wifi connection was less than half as fast as the wired connection. So I
    plugged the ethernet cable back into the 360 console and so far 30+ minutes into the first movie I've watched and no disconnection issues.

    I'll update if the problem persists.

    Constantly disconnecting from XBOX Live - XBOX 360

    I have an XBOX 360 (Console ID: 019781619754) with an XBOX Live Gold membership. I can sign in to xbox live no problem, but whenever I am playing a game, watching Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc. the console will unexpectedly drop connection to XBOX live. The
    console is connected to my modem via an ethernet cable that I have tested for quality and it is fine.

    I tried clearing the System Cache, but that hasn't had any affect on the problem.

    I have Time Warner Cable as my ISP and the connection is 200 Mbps, however when I do the XBOX Network Statistics test it shows that I have 43ms latency, 0% packet loss, an upload sped of 13.77 Mbps and a download speed of ONLY 18.45 Mbps.

    Could there be a limitation in the bandwidth on the ethernet cable that I'm using?

    I have a feeling that you may need to configure some ports on your modem/gateway/router to help open up your connection to XBL and prevent random disconnects and general lag. Have you ever done that yet?

    Unfortunately, in order to do so, this will require full access to your networking hardware, and you will need the proper access privileges to adjust the settings.

    Hello, thanks for your reply.

    I will try those 3 links when I get home. But I am not going to do another factory reset - this has not helped in the past.

    If I can't resolve this issue - I will throw away the 360 and buy Apple TV for my husband instead. This is just too much of a hassle and we are not tech-savvy people.

    Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry to hear the issue is still persisting. Is the Xbox One console a recent new addition you guys have made? Or you've had the Xbox one for a while? If you had the Xbox one for a while as well as your Xbox 360 when did
    the issues start exactly? Now, since you do mention each time you use your Xbox One console it kicks him out of the Xbox 360. It could actually also be the router, due to the fact that not all routers can support multiple consoles. You could determine if
    your router supports multiple consoles by checking the router's information manual.
    (if you don't have the information available we could always try to help assist finding the information if you can provide to us your Routers make and model.)
