Constant updates

in the early days of xbox one, even in the preview program, system updates seemed to happen automatically, either in the background, or while the console was asleep. Now, several mornings a week, my box is useless for the first 30 minutes or so of my morning,
because, guess what, its the third system update of the week! The system settings still claim that it's set up to download updates automatically, but this doesnt seem to actually work anymore. Any suggestions?

Hey there GreyBush23.

From what you describe, it sounds like you may be enrolled in the Xbox One Update Preview without knowing. If you check under Games + Apps do you see a Preview App available for download? If not, is there one available under your Ready To Install list? I would
also check other profiles on the Xbox One to see if one of them may have be enrolled.

I think recently with the insider updates to get the update installed on consoles more quickly they have reduced the amount of time between an update being released and it becoming mandatory on the console and this may be meaning it has become mandatory
before your console has taken the update automatically.

They are coming for the preview program. Those that are not in the program are not getting the updates.

Head to the system memory and highlight your hard drive and press Y; it will guide you what to do afterwards!

I went to the store and handed it in under guarantee, I don't see any possible fix for this, I've literally tried everything.

I suggest you do the same if your console is still under guarantee.

Making us do 20 different things that mess up all the settings on your console while we've done nothing wrong with it except for downloading a mandatory update.. This just shouldn't happen. And it's not even the first thing I had issues with on this console.

I own over 20 different consoles ranging from the 1970's up to now and the XBox One is the one I'm most displeased with of any of those ever. Even the Atari Jaguar has given me less of a headache than this thing.

I hope Microsoft gets it's *** straight, because if not I'm probably never buying a product of them ever again.

Complete waste of time and money.

As expected, the second I connect to the internet in the installation process, I get presented with the same faulty 1070MB update loop. The only thing I can think off atm is that my internal HDD is corrupted because Microsoft *** up some kind of update.
