Constant updates

From early August i have a problem with the console. Every time i start the xbox one it appears that i have an update of 1062 mb...it downloads...it reboots....but not start the console. I start manually after a few minutes...but again the message...i have
un update....after a few days...the update was of 1038 mb...but i can not use the console anymore.

I have tried to update with a usb. but after that, again the message of ..you have un update of 1038 mb...it install...update...and again the same message. 15 days without console. No games...no blu rays...nothing.

Even i didn't renew the preview access thing a few months ago...i only want to use my xbox one...or exchange by other. But all the microsoft support is to write in this forum.

Any help?

From what you describe, it sounds like you may be enrolled in the Xbox One Update Preview without knowing. If you check under Games + Apps do you see a Preview App available for download? If not, is there one available under your Ready To Install list? I would
also check other profiles on the Xbox One to see if one of them may have be enrolled.

I personally haven't run into this issue myself and unsure what troubleshooting you've done so far but did you already try completely shutting off the console/clearing cache or unplugging the power cord?

While the console is on press and hold the Xbox power button on the console for about 30 seconds. Let go, power it on like normal and see if that fixes your issue. Or have you did a complete power off and unplug the power cord from the back of the console?

Hello Fibre. First of all, thanks for use your time for helping me.

Test 1) According with your words. i shutted off the console and unplugged the cord for about 10 minutes. Result.....same message...i have a pending update of 1038 mb.

Test 2) With this message on the screen. Press and hold during 30 seconds. the console shutted down. I unplugged the power cord for a while. I switch on the console. Result...same message...i have a pending update of 1038 mb

Test 3) After test 2...i do again the installation of the udpate...the console shut down...i unplug the power cord for 5 minutes and start again all. Result....same message i have a pending update of 1038 mb.

 

Regarding test 3, you performed the installation/update, it got to the part of rebooting but it does not power back on correct?

Another question, are you able to skip the update and continue offline so we can get into the Settings app?

 

Yes...i finish the update...but the console does not reboot for itself. I have to do it after a while. After this again the message.

According to the second question, now, i can not skip the update. The early days of the problem, i could, but i tried to restore de fabric setting...and after that...i just can or update or shut down the console. No more options.

 

I see, if you were able to skip the update and get into Settings app we could reset the whole console

But, since your not able to the only thing I can think of currently is to use the USB method of factory resetting the console

You mentioned attempting to USB update but have you tried USB factory resetting?

Does anyone else have any ideas before taking this drastic step?

 

Well. i have news. After another update from usb and restart. My console ask me for a 1078 mbs new update instead of previous 1038 mb update.....i don't know if they are good or bad news

unfortunately not. just the size of the update has changed. I asked to microsoft support account, but they just referred to this forum. Very disappointing

 

Sorry to hear that, the only thing I can think of currently is to try the USB factory reset method found here: support.xbox.com/.../reset-factory-defaults-using-usb-flash-drive

 

I have this exact same issue (stuck on 1070MB update loop), tried a million things to fix this, but haven't tried USB factory reset yet. Will give an update if this works or not. Support has been 110% useless so far.

 

As expected, the second I connect to the internet in the installation process, I get presented with the same faulty 1070MB update loop. The only thing I can think off atm is that my internal HDD is corrupted because Microsoft *** up some kind of update.

 

I am still in that point. I suppose microsoft want us to buy ps4 neo because i don't find other explanation to their behavior. No help...no exchange the console...nothing.
