    Buggy, always want to reconnect.

I am experiencing the same problems with constant loss of connection. This is so frustrating that, although these are great games, I am about to uninstall and not look back. Please fix and communicate. Thanks.

Xbox one connected to router with ethernet having constant packet loss

My Xbox one has been having a constant packet loss between 1-6% recently but every other device in the house works fine and has no packet loss. I'm using a cox docsis 3 cisco dpq3212 modem with a netgear ac4000 router. Late last night while in the middle
of a game the connection dropped and signed me out of xbox live. This has been happening with the packet loss the last few weeks and is really irritating after trying to fix it constantly with calling cox. Any help would be appreciated.

    Constant loss of connection

    WIRELESS CONNECTION:

    • Power Down your console entirely

      This is a FULL shutdown

You will want to UNPLUG your console from electrical power for at least 5 minutes

This clears out your Xbox's RAM entirely and will help ensure any data that can cause these issues to clear out.
    • Disconnect Third party headsets Third-party wireless headsets can cause active interference because they broadcast on the same frequency as wireless routers. To identify if the headset is causing the issue, disconnect the power from the base
station of the wireless headset, then check to see if this clears up the connection problem you were experiencing.
    • Check for other wireless interference Active interference

Active interference is caused when other electronic devices are broadcasting either a wireless signal or some other form of electromagnetic interference. Common causes of active interference are microwaves, ovens, air conditioners, CRT televisions, wireless
headsets, baby monitors, other wireless networks, cordless phone systems, and wireless speakers.
Note As a best practice to minimize potential wireless interference, make sure all the cables on the back of your console are gathered away from and are not touching the console.

    • Passive interference

Passive interference occurs when a wireless signal passes through objects. This causes the wireless signal to be weakened and refracted. Materials that cause passive interference include concrete, glass, lead and copper piping, insulation, mirrors, gun safes,
filing cabinets, tile, and plaster. The wireless signal also degrades over distance. Interference can also occur when the console is too close to the wireless router. The ideal distance from the wireless router for the Xbox One console is between 5 and 50
      feet.
    • Line of sight

When dealing with active or passive interference, a critical component to consider is line of sight. Draw an imaginary straight line from your router to your Xbox One console, and try to eliminate as many points of interference as you can along
that line. You can do this by turning off or moving any devices along that line that could cause active interference. Or, you can move the console or router to minimize passive interference. Moving the devices outside of entertainment cabinets or desks can
      often help improve wireless signals.

    • Power cycle your console and network hardware (reboot) To perform a power cycle reset, follow these steps:
Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

    Restart your Xbox One console:

    1. Press the Xboxbutton to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Restart console.
    4. Select Yesto confirm.

Note If you’re unable to access the guide, or if the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the Xbox button
on the console again to restart.
    Wait five minutes.

If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Plug in the rest of your hardware and check to see if you still experience the same connection problem as before.

Enable Perimeter Network (also known as DMZ) on your router
Perimeter network(also known as DMZ) functionality on a router is used to remove restrictions to the Internet. This essentially moves your device to an area outside your network firewall. If you enable perimeter network functionality
on your router, you should be able to connect to Xbox Live, join games, and host games or parties.

Note: It is critical that you use a static IP address on the console when you set up a perimeter network. To set a static IP address, use your router’s DHCP reservation function, when available. If this is not available, you will have to set up manual
IP settings on your Xbox console. You will only be able to place one Xbox console into the perimeter network. Therefore, if you have multiple consoles, this solution will only resolve the issue for one Xbox console.

    • There may be an issue with your Internet Service Provider Run an "Event Log" on your modem/router to see what exactly is causing the issue. A lot of times there is noise in the cabling and your service provider can schedule a
tech visit to come replace the cabling, check the tap to make sure everything is secure and tightly fitted.

    Constant loss of connection

Thanks for replying, So the router is no more than 5-6 years old and I haven't tried to update the firmware, I just assumed my broadband provider would deal with it should it be an issue... also constantly using the WIFI is a TV, 3 Moblie phones, a laptop
and an Amazon Echo thing. Hope that helps.

    Constant loss of connection

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately it says I need to be online in order to run the network test... seems a little tedious to be unable to connect and the only solution requires connection? Thanks anyway man :)

    Hi iKingSnipe,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this issue. Good to know that your console is recognizing your wireless network, but since you're having difficulty in getting connected to it, I recommend that you try our Xbox
    One Disconnect Solution
since this is happening out of the blue. Please go step by step as this helps pinpoint the direct cause of the disconnection.

Give the troubleshooting steps in the wizard a try and let us know the results.

I hope that this helps out.
