Constant lag spikes..... Any suggestions?

Getting constant lag spikes which shouldn't be happening with 50gb download speeds, any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

BT FTTC is being rolled out across the country and will be complete next year, from Spring you can buy FTTP (in FTTC areas) and have 330Mbps down.

Unfortunately the Virgin cable network (different network to BT's) is oversubscribed in areas so whilst they have great headline speeds it can be terrible for gaming as the OP is finding out.

Here's what I get to the same server as the OP on BT FTTC

I assume you are using wireless. Issues can occur due to the distance/location of your router to xbox. if you can pick up a cheap wireless booster and place it in the room, where your xbox is, then you should get improved signal strength. Another issue (which
I have suffered with) is with your ISP, I had Sky (UK based satalite TV) and there service was always dropping out. I switched provider, using the same line into my property and have never had any lag spikes or service drops since. Yet another cause can be
the game servers you connect to, which we have no control of. I would try the booster option first.
