CONSTANT DNS Error trying to Connect through Laptop.

Hello,

Can someone help me please? I've been using the connecting to Xbox Live with Laptop method for years but today it has randomly decided not to work anymore... Earlier today I was playing fine no interruptions, no disconnections on both the Xbox One and 360,
NOTHING was wrong. Then I turn my Xbox off to go play my Wii U(did not connect that) then I went to make some dinner, I came back, watched a movie from my External HDD on the 360. Then I downloaded a couple of programs that I needed on the laptop. They didn't
come up as a threat at all so I don't think it could be that causing this, I also removed them. Then I try connecting my 360 to Xbox Live and NOTHING, it gets to the 'Internet' stage in the test then it fails and says the DNS Error, I've restarted my Modem
like 10 times and nothing has changed I just get a constant DNS Error, another thing I tried it on my Xbox One, and that doesn't even get a IP Address!!!! PLEEEASE SOMEONE HELP! I can't connect to XL any other way because my house is too big!!!

I'm using the Sharing method, I can't seem to get the Bridging method to work it always says 'To create Network Bridge, you must select at least two LAN ot High-Speed internet connections that are not being used by the Internet Connection Sharing.'

Xbox live through laptop?

I am trying to get my xbox to connect to live through my laptop. I am at a college where for some reason wired connection to the xbox is worse for Netflix. I used to be able to connect my xbox to live while using my laptop using ethernet, but now the college's
router is having issues with the DNS. I change the DNS to be a free DNS server from google, and right now my xbox can't connect to my laptop at all. It says there is an ip address error, so I am trying to manually set the IP.

I set the subnet to be 255.255.0.0 and the ip address to be the same that the xbox said it had. Now I just need to know what default gateway to use if I am using my laptop to get to xbox live on my xbox.

i'm using wireless, automatic ip, automatic DNS.

 

please try Setting up Manual dns with Primary dns server 8.8.8.8
