Constant disconnect on University of New Mexico campus

Hello everyone,

I'm in the dorms on the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and this year, I am running into the issue of my Xbox 360 constantly disconnecting from Xbox live. Last year, I had no issues.

I am connected via an ethernet cable plugged into the wall- I have no access to the router I am connected to or anything. I simply plug into the wall and receive internet. I've tried deleting my cache, looking for corrupted files... My desktop computer (which
I game on very often) has never disconnected from the internet. I also have it connected with an ethernet cable.

I've had this issue since I tried playing Destiny and couldn't connect to those servers. Since then, I've had the worst connection luck. (Or Destiny really messed me up)

Any ideas you guys have will be appreciated. Thanks.

Certain games won't start following a game freeze

Do you think it the method would work even if I couldn't access the modem and router? I'm on a university campus and can't unplug it.

 

Connecting to Xbox Live on a university campus

I'm a student at the University of MIami and I always used to connect to Xbox Live by giving my xbox my MAC address and signing into the campus online webpage on my laptop. Since the Xbox had the same MAC address, it then connected to the internet too and
this is I used to connect to the internet. I haven't played Live in a long time and when I went to do so the other day, it would only connect to the internet but not to Xbox live itself. Any suggestions? Is there any way to see if my campus has blocked off
Xbox Live servers?

 

If you are getting code names when playing Destiny then you should check Bungie's support pages for that.

However, if it's just a general disconnection from the net on the console then you would need to talk to the IT guys on campus. Perhaps there's some type of protocol they need to put in place for you.
