Constant Controller disconnects!!!!

Hey guys not sure what to do here, my controllers disconnect constantly. It's so bad that I use a wired connection just to play. I have followed all of the support steps, sent my console in for repair and tried with three different controllers. Does anyone
know if Microsoft is aware of a bug in the software?

Anybody else having CONSTANT controller disconnects? Any potential fix?

I went through the BS with MS support, and long story short I am being told I need to shell out nearly half the cost of the console to fix this issue.. Apparently 9 years of dumping money into a company earns you expensive as **** repairs?

Regardless, if I can't come to any other solution I will be selling off this console and games. I have had too many headaches in the decade I have tried to use xboxes to enjoy them any further; from multiple jammed tray original xboxes, more than 10 Red Ring
360's directly from MS, and now this..

tl;dr, I'm not paying microsoft $150 to send me the same console back untouched like they did with my 360; any tips before I smash it?

They don't care about this issue, the only option you have is to play with it wired, buy a new console or switch platforms altogether. The issue is widespread and MS just keeps dodging it.

 

They also keep locking the threads trying to keep it hush. This is outrageous. Many people in the previous thread have already said they've attempted one or multiple repairs thru support and it STILL breaks. This needs to be formally addressed and hiding
the fact does not make the issue disappear. Not to mention the poor quality of support I talked to, who said it was my controller, but wouldn't replace my Day-One edition with the same product, rather would just give me a standard one. Unacceptable.

 

Other forums state it's something to do with faulty wifi boards...

 

The faulty WiFi board causes issues with the controller disconnecting and staying disconnected I believe, which can be fixed by sending it away to Microsoft. I think the issue where the remote disconnects and almost instantly reconnects is an issue in every
Xbox one and is due to interference from other devices, if it doesn't happen to you then you either aren't playing from enough of a distance or don't have another device interfering . The 360 remote had a far better range, Its possible they have improved the
range with new consoles, but I doubt it as they probably still use the same technology.

Please note I only have other peoples experiences to go by, no real evidence.

They locked the last post after 2000 posts saying it was resolved. Which blatently isn't the case. The thread was my last hope.

I've noticed with the controller that if you use AA batteries they don't exactly fit tightly because the backing for the battery housing doesn't make contact with the batteries. So if you drop your controller from even a half inch in the air it will dislodge
the batteries. The play and charge batteries lock into place better and don't have this problem. A simple fix is to fold up some paper and place in ontop of the batteries and then put on the lid so that it applies a bit of pressure to the batteries to keep
them in place.

 

I get the disconnect/reconnect issue and can basically replicate the issue over and over again by moving the controller a foot to the left and the right, and it's like 7 feet away from the console. If it is indeed interference issues, it would be nice if
support could provide exact specifications on the frequency AND channel the controller uses. It would also be nice to be able to manually specify the channel. This way I could analyze surrounding WiFi and tweak it for optimal performance... if there any to
be had.

 

got the same issue after the last Dashboard preview update, both Controllers are disconnecting now and playing wire with ugly noises is just unacceptable

 

Joining the chorus. I have had this issues since I bought it in June of 2014. It starts with audio crackles then the controller disconnects and tries to reconnect. Mostly happens when there is something intense happening on the screen or I'm streaming audio
to the controller. Has absolutely nothing to do with batteries or controllers (first thing I ruled out). Once I read the many threads on it I didn't bother sending in my console as 99% of people have the issue with the 'repaired' devices. I live in the NYC
area in a high-rise and have very little control over external interference. My hypothesis is that there is something common in the environment with all of the people who have the issue and the people who don't have this don't have the item in their environment.
Whatever the interference is it is not common or a large enough problem for MS to address with anything other than the "I think your an idiot here are basic troubleshooting steps" dismissal posts that they do before the lock the thread. I am moving to a new
place in mid-town in a month, hopefully I leave behind whatever is plaguing the console. BTW, during certain times of the day I experience no disconnects and others it is every 2 minutes. My guess is that one of my neighbors may be coming home from work when
the disconnects happen and start doing whatever causes the problem. Could it be microwave ovens? Wifi channels? Wireless HDMI? Bluetooth devices? Certain types of cellular devices? If I knew more about the controller's frequency I might be able to find the
offending device. The business center at my current apartment is isolated (cell phones don't work there, wifi router can be turned off), if I get some free time I will take it there and see if it works. Anyone have any other suggests? Also how can we get MS
to stop locking the threads? Do we need to troubleshoot this on another forum?

 

I've had this issue with 4 Xbox's. Had loads of new pads to try and eliminate the problem.

I even had a Microsoft "Senior" engineer ring me at home to discuss the issue. I gave him photos of my setup and he sounded really good. Took all my info and said he was passing to higher up. Never ever heard back.

Im going to get my Xbox replaced / repaired one more time. If it still happens I will go down the route of getting a refund on my xbox due to the UK sales of goods act. Then Ill either buy a PS4 or try one of the new 1TB XBOX's to see if different revisions.

 

I've had this happen many times with different controllers, including the new one that just came out with the 3.5 mm jack. In fact, the new controller seems to be the worst of the bunch. Usually, the disconnect last only a few seconds before reconnecting,
but the new controller disconnected and wouldn't reconnect for about 30 seconds.

I can usually tell when it's about to happen because the sound in my headset (probably the chat audio, since I'm using an Astro A50 connected via the Microsoft-branded stereo headset adapter) begins to get noisy and drop out.

The only way I've found to prevent this is to use a 3 meter USB cable to connect the controller to the console.

 

It has something to do with the WiFi range and interference. I had one Xbox repaired and bought two new and all are the same. If I put it behind a wall for testing it will get even worse wich seems to indicate it is a wifi problem since the signal to the
controller gets weaker.

Also, if I use wireless internet on the console the problem gets a lot worse so I only use ethernet-cable because otherwise you cant use the headset adapter because of all the noise and breakup when using wifi for internet. I sit 8 feet away with no walls
or other obstacles. PS4 works flawless, buy a PS4 if you want a working solution. (Not trolling, I have tried EVERYTHING because I love the Xbox brand)
