    Constant controller disconnects, unable to fix


    I have already had my Xbox One replaced once, after it essentially bricked.

    The new one, since I've gotten it, has sporadic but constant controller disconnects.

    There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, but it's most noticable when I'm playing games, which over the last few weeks/months have been Madden 15, Peggle 2, Watch Dogs, and now Destiny.

    I have power cycled my system multiple times. I have connected both controllers using USB instead of the kinect-sensor syncing or the non-kinect wireless syncing. I play no more than 10 feet away from my Xbox at any given time. I have moved my cell phone
    out of the room. There is nothing, metal or otherwise, in the space between my console and the controller in my hand.

    I did not have this problem with my original Xbox One console, which bricked and was returned for this one. I do not have any sort of wireless interference issues with anything else in the area (PS3, 360, WiiU)

    Please tell me anything else I can do, other than remove my wifi, since that's impossible. I'm guessing it's a second broken xbox one in less than a year of owning one.

    I'm tired of getting killed because my controllers decide to stop working.

    It has something to do with the WiFi range and interference. I had one Xbox repaired and bought two new and all are the same. If I put it behind a wall for testing it will get even worse wich seems to indicate it is a wifi problem since the signal to the
    controller gets weaker.

    Also, if I use wireless internet on the console the problem gets a lot worse so I only use ethernet-cable because otherwise you cant use the headset adapter because of all the noise and breakup when using wifi for internet. I sit 8 feet away with no walls
    or other obstacles. PS4 works flawless, buy a PS4 if you want a working solution. (Not trolling, I have tried EVERYTHING because I love the Xbox brand)

  3. Constant Controller disconnects!!!!

    I've had this happen many times with different controllers, including the new one that just came out with the 3.5 mm jack. In fact, the new controller seems to be the worst of the bunch. Usually, the disconnect last only a few seconds before reconnecting,
    but the new controller disconnected and wouldn't reconnect for about 30 seconds.

    I can usually tell when it's about to happen because the sound in my headset (probably the chat audio, since I'm using an Astro A50 connected via the Microsoft-branded stereo headset adapter) begins to get noisy and drop out.

    The only way I've found to prevent this is to use a 3 meter USB cable to connect the controller to the console.

    Have you noticed if this problem started to occur after upgrading September (1409) ??? If so, welcome to the team! I am also having the same problem! Many people are with this problem after the update of September!

    I have also had a similar problem. My controller will not sync with the system regardless of the steps I take. Even when I connect it via a micro USB the controller will be connected then stop being connected. The only thing I can think of that might fix
    it, is updating it but I can't update it because it won't stay connected.

    I'm now having this issue.... great! Mine only seems to have happened in the past week or so since the update can't say for certain it is that, but seems likely...

  7. Hey Andywitham, just like BR4DOKYBrazil mentions it does seem for a few of us that it came about due to a software update.

    Please go here:
    support.xbox.com/.../contact-us
    and start a chat with them to tell them you are also having this problem so that the problem gets identified and fixed by their engineers! They gave me some steps to try which I will do when I get home, basically clearing
    some storage 3 times then a MAC address etc.

    Thanks HardcoreHarris - I tried the chat, it appears that I have tried all their suggested steps and we also went through the offline diagnostic tool. To be honest it hasn't really made any difference. We ended the chat with me going to somewhere else and
    trying both my controllers out on another console. If they work then the console is the issue... I did ask if there was any known issues with the update - as predicted, they had not heard anything.
