Constant 1000mb+ updates

This is getting beyond the joke.

Every time I don't play a game for a while and I decide to play it, I am prompted to always download 1151mb for the game. When I search on the internet however, there is literally nothing explaining what the download is for.

On the 360 we had to download that constant 80kb or something update to check for piracy or something if I remember correctly.

And now this for the Xbox One is just really stupid in two ways if you ask me...

1. We install games and there is, 'too much' security on these consoles, what is the point of checking for legitimacy? I thought it was now impossible to pirate due to the constant state of internet connections and security checks.

2. 1000mb+ really? nearly every week? this is getting really annoying as it takes a bit to download. Not to mention some people have capped internet and slow speeds so who was the genius who thought of this?

Why don't I have the Windows 10 Dashboard yet?

OMG, as soon as I posted my last post my Xbox is getting the update NOW!! It kicked me off of my NBA 2K16 and said the system needs to update. It is over 1000MB. HAHA!! Talk about perfect timing!

 

Thought it was a 500GB hard drive

Other space is occupied by the OS, space reserved for receiving updates and making backups while updating and by apps.

Also notice that calculations are based on 1gb is 1024mb and the marketing is using 1gb is 1000mb (so the drive is 478gb of total in calculations on screen)

 

if you have your xbox set to standby mode with the option to download updates while off, this should bypass the problem of doing an update when you fire up a game. as for the constant updates, nothing to help you with there. this gen stuff is simply so much
bigger then last gen
