Console Won't Turn On

There was a storm here recently, now the console won't power on. I tried all the steps here http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/console-wont-power-on

Other things work in the same outlet. The console won't work in other outlets. The orange light is on steady.

But here's the weird thing: It wasn't even plugged into the wall during the storm. Can someone please help?

Console won't turn on

the power supply light is orange and I have unplugged from console but the xbox still will not turn on. you can hear it when you try to turn on but the console won't turn on.

Nothing but issues with xboxone. The storm had nothing to do with it if it was not plugged in. The most recent issue with our xbox one is it will power up, accept discs etc, but no signal to the tv. Looking at other forums here it is described as "temporary
death". These problems go back a couple years, and notably microsoft has not corrected them, but keeps selling crappy devices. Notice no one from microsoft gets on these forums. I only hope your xboxome is a gift, I would be doubly angry if I paid for it.

It seems like this is a boot problem with the console what you can do is try a offline diagnostic tool but there is no guarantees that will work since the console won't boot up properly. If you have a local Microsoft retailer it's best to contact them to
see if they can give more detail on what the console is trying to do when you attempt to start it up.

Hi Sara, I have tried that as well and still nothing. I keep hearing a buzzing sound when I plug the power cord into my XBox One S, but still no power light. I may have to look into servicing it

EDIT: you may also need to reset the power supply - you can do that here https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/reset-power-supply-solution

Make sure your powersupply is in a well ventilated area and isnt overheating which might cause it to turn off.

If it wont work after running through these steps it may need to be serviced.

Something to note - it's also suggested that your power supply cable should be plugged directly into the wall and not a surge protector/power strip.

If you're hearing a buzzing noise, it could be the outlet - but to be safe, I would also look into service options.
