    Console won't switch on


    Hi all

    After a recent update (my machine is in the auto update program) my machine (XBox One) will not switch on.

    It makes the 'ping' sound when I press the start button on the console but it will not switch on.

    I have tried power cycling and disconnecting the brick but nothing.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    As you have already tried to power cycle your xbox. Try this boot procedure to access trouble shoot mode. You may need to offline update your console in addition to booting in safe mode.

    This sounds like a hardware issue. As you say it will not switch on. Your only option here is to send it in for repair, but it also sounds like you have the original Xbox One console, so it will most likely be out of warranty, so you will have to pay to
    get it fixed.

    You may be better off just purchasing a new console. But if you want to send the console in for repair, you will need to go here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/warranty-and-service/register-your-product and
    follow the instructions on how to register the console and book it in for repair.

    So you were having problems connecting to your internet?

    The best thing would be to powercycle it following the steps on our site at
    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/power-cycle-console

    We cannot switch your console on and off remotely.

    If that doesn't work we also have some helpful steps you can follow on our site as well at “I need help with my Xbox One network connection”
